11th Gen i5 laptop < $300 seems like a pretty decent price
Good working condition. Medium Case Scratches. Minor Screen scratches, May have slightly glossy keyboard but all keys intact and visible. AC adapter included.

I'm no seller, but this is labeled as a B-Grade laptop. I've bought a B grade before. Not pretty. Came dirty, smelled weird, dead CMOS battery, fingerprint reader wasn't working.
I think I paid too much for it, but I sucked it up and have been living with it for 2 years.
Ah gotchya now.
yeah the pricing's pretty hot, just need to factor in a new battery as well i guess ($64) - just realised it's only a 2900mah battery.
eek.
But that might be at a higher voltage, hence a higher overall power (Wh)
All these new laptops can charge via usbc, so it's not as big an issue as it used to be.
A $60 powerbank will give you at least 5 hours of use
@outlander: ok that for $60 seems pretty good actually …
wondering if the 140W (27000mah) for $100 ish is worth the extra $40…
my acer laptop comes w 100w input
whilst my new macbook m1 can take 35-55w?
@BadGiraffe, Did you check whether the fingerprint reader is turned on in BIOS. I had a similar issue with a Lenovo and it was teh BIOS setting.
Good catch. I'll check that out. Thanks!
The keyboard is failing though… like… just. In the last 48 hours.
Fingerprint reader failing is a known thing, mine screwed up a few years ago, not a BIOS thing.
BIOS won't detect the finger print reader. I could open it up and check it out, but if the keyboard is failing, then maybe there's no point.
Sounds like a companion robot from the future
If this is same model, it has Thunderbolt 4 which makes great for a portable worktation. Just need to source a Thunderbolt dock.

The charging ports on this model like to die
Source?
Not this model but lenovo t49 from office and yes one usb c got busted for no reason.
I can confirm this, as my workplace has a fleet of these. Also, these machine love to not wake up from a deep sleep & require you to do a pinhole reset. Fun fact, these don't even have a cmos battery built in. I can't wait till the asset refresh so I can be done with these machine. I love the Lenovo ThinkPad series but these L13 Yoga Gen 2 are a bit disappointing for dependability.
L13 VS T49 which is higher model?
Most Thinkpad series with the USB C port seems to come off the solder joints, I have an E490s as my personal machine that has the USB C Port repaired twice & my work T14 Gen 2 has it's USB C port repair onces under warranty. However, these L13 are particually even worse & for some reason doesn't play well with certain docks, despite being genuine Lenovo products.
@nick90: my 10210U lenovo x13 yoga gen 1 seems mega sketchy as well with the usb type c port…
refurbished off some guy on marketplace and one of the battery cells has died or smth so significantly not good battery
Sleep retardation is an ongoing windows laptop issue. Microsoft & the various BIOS/chipset manufacturers seem to not give a crap about fixing it.
i got that macbook m1 air refurb deal and I'm absolutely amazed and astounded by the sleep function on macbook.
close the lid or lock the device n it goes to black screen and it literally consumes no power
They do seem to have a CMOS battery, it's under the main laptop battery. Those also like to die randomly as well, unless we just got a bad batch of laptops with bad batteries as well.
That will explain it, such a strange place to put the CMOS battery though. Yeah I notice that with our batch of L13 Yoga as well that they like to die.
Is this overkill for a Plex server? Should I get a cheaper desktop instead?
One of those n100 things should be fine. I personally use Jellyfin and have an 8th gen desktop PC and it goes fine
It's overkill, but hey, built in ups.
wonder how well a powerbank will last powering those minipcs
B Grade
Bought one of those prior to the sale, only charge 90 time, battery still 90%. Work fine and well. Bought an other one on the sale. Hope it would be the same, will update when i receive it
Can the RAM be upgraded or is 16GB max ?
Afaik it’s soldered
RAM is soldered. If an i5-1145G7 works for you, you probably don't need more than 16GB
This is an absolute STEEL
Afe you serious or /s
Yoga means can be folded ?
No cant its an absolute STEEL
If enough heat im sure can? Even melted
Generally, Yoga's are 2-in-1's. For non-gaming laptops, I always go for 2-in-1's. Lenovo Yoga's in fact.
but i dont see this listing has touch screen or can be folded
I googled for the exact model, but I couldn't find one with the same processor. There are similar models that show it flipped.
From the photos in the listing, those hinges look like the ones they put on 2-in-1's.
I'm fairly confident it is, but it's best to ask the seller.
I have this model. Yes it folds/2 in 1. Yes touchscreen. It also has a stylus built in
256GB SSD can be replaced? or another added ?
wont accept coupon need ebay plus?
SSD can be replaced, only 1 slot. RAM is soldered
Anything similar to this but A grade?
Got mine today, pretty happy with it for the price. Condition was about what you'd expect if a laptop was used near-daily for a few years - nothing awful but a lot of normal wear and tear, especially around the edges. The keycaps for common keys have worn down to smooth plastic lol.
Gave it a wipe down even though it wasn't visually dirty and was surprised to pull up a modest layer of grime. The intake area (on the laptop's back panel) for the single cooling fan was clogged with dust that not even my air compressor could get out - ended up flushing that out under running water.
I repasted with Honeywell PTM7950 more for preventative maintenance than anything else (original temps looked okay, paste condition looked okay-ish before I took it off). Temps were initially higher but after thermal cycling a couple of times they're now moderately lower (45~50 at idle originally, now 35~45 at idle). I thought the fans would be a bit quieter under medium loads like installing large Windows updates (which makes it hover ~60C after it's done running itself into a thermal wall of 4GHz/100C at the start of the workload), but at least they're not so loud as to be "loud".
Mine arrived yesterday been playing with it today, condition is really good really, some little scratches on bottom, screen perfect, keyboad has some slight glossing on a few keys nothing bad at all. Does have a chip on the lcd bezel down the bottom right, only small didnt even notice untill i had used it for two hours.
Repasting CPU now its dry AF was idleing at 60 also a fair amount of dust in fan intake and blades but thats to be expected.
All screws are captive taking it apart which is nice.
Mine arrived, and screen has clearly got scratches from the keyboard. when the screen is off, you can basically make out all the keys on the screen.
Also the USB charging port seems a little lose.
Exposed ports are filled with dirt.
sigh
B grade
maybe =
Bad grade
?
Alright, so mine arrived this week on Monday (Ordered prior to this post, but unfortunately, I live in WA haha). So far I have nearly brand new keyboard (compared to the first one I ordered, this is like brand new). 95% battery with 50 time charge. So far so good, the fan is collecting dush even though the temp is still optimal. the second one is from VIC not from NSW but the delivery time is the same for my anyway. Also, the second one looks much more newer than the first one, these mob and SMG is the same (may be all owned by SK tes). Anyway, I am happy with this purchase
How's the battery on these?
