    Check the base price - I used to be with Simply Energy and then moved to Momentum - they didn't have a discount, but the c/Kw was the same, but the SUpply Charge (aka Pole Tax) was 30c/day cheaper. So the real savings wasn't in the usage or discount - it was the lower Supply charge.

      True, but the discount off the usage could be higher than the saving off the supply charge if you have a high usage so would need to actually compute the difference.

    Their service charge is very expensive and not included in the discount!! I ran away last year.. I would say DO NOT JOIN..

        Good site to work our your actual costs - but the discounts in there do not include the RACV 30% special offer or any other special offers.

    Using the Switchon website & my usage based on last year, there was 10 plans cheaper than this deal, so do your research. Retailers were: Momentum, Red Energy, Powershop, Click Energy.
    You can also get this same deal through Energy Watch, if you are not a RACV member.

    610 kWh in 86 days. Jemena region. All calcs ex GST. Single Rate.
    Momentum: 20.28 c/kwh. Supply charge 68.49 c/day. Bill = $123.71 + $58.90 = $182.61
    RACV deal: Simply Energy: 18.242 c/kwh (inc Discount). Supply charge 119.14 c/day. Bill = $111.28 + $102.46 = $213.74
    Momentum better by $31 per qtr (86 days)
    Maybe if your usage is much higher would compensate for the nearly double Supply charge

      1195 kWh in 95 days. Citipower region. All calcs ex GST. Single Rate.
      Momentum: 17.33 c/kwh. Supply charge 76.71 c/day. Bill = $207.03 + $72.87 = $279.90
      RACV deal: Simply Energy: 14.59 c/kwh (inc Discount). Supply charge 97.63 c/day. Bill = $174.35 + $92.74 = $267.03
      RACV better by $12.8 per qtr (95 days)

      So it just depends on your particular usage.
