Nintendo Wii $299 with Free Shipping! COTD 8pm 6 July

190

Hi guys! Catch of the Day is having another Wii catch tonight at 8pm, where each Wii is only $299!! That's with free shipping too. It states that there are only 100 units avaliable, but last time I managed to score a PS2 for $99 without any problems (plus my internet was shaped!)

Cross your fingers and hope you can grab one! Cheapest I've seen since the other COTD deal, I think they were $199 then?

Mod - marked as expired.

  • P.S The deal will be accessible via the bottom banner on the site, starting at around 8pm.

  • Fairly decent deal. But you can get bundled deals in the shops that make the Wii even cheaper.

  • Where's my $199 Wii?!?! LOL

Hmm it was $199 last time. Going to be same problems as last time? But then its not as much of a bargain.

    • Yeah, $199 back then was a steal…but I never got one. :(

$299 now is hardly a bargain though…you can get em from JB for $325 plus as jasonc mentioned there's some good bundled deals around.

  • that's amazing…

I think this is a deal considering some places still sell the Wii at around $350. I'm glad free shipping is also being provided and that stock levels are being told up front.

  • QQQ, it just the basic unit or is it bunbled with a game?

  • Site seems to be holding up ok right now…

    Basic Standard Wii Thing.

    Sold out.

Edit: lol why -ve me? please leave me a note along with -ve :)

    • Maybe all the people who missed out the deal :)

Thanks for being open and honest about there only being 100 Wii's. Much better than the shit fights of the past.

  • missed out :(…
i guess its off to dikkies

  • At this price its hardly bargain as there are plenty of good deal on bundle on sale atm.
Buying from COTD…what happend to warranty? Return to them with your $$$ for postage?
To save you the trouble later on… buying it from retail store is the way to go!

Not everyone can get to a JB/DSE store though. There is still a market for this item at this price, and the shipped price is STILL cheaper then the retail stores.

To keep it in perspective, people were giving positive votes to a monitor that was $3 cheaper than other shops.

  • To keep it in perspective, people were giving positive votes to a monitor that was $3 cheaper than other shops.

But it depend what shops? If it retail vs online then surely I go for retail or online (OO/OW) vs online (COTD) then surely I'll go for OO or OW as I don't trust COTD either. Cheaper by few bucks not worth the risks!

Sorry I should have clarified. It was a monitor available from 9289 and/or computer alliance. Everyone was going on about how a bargain needs to be x% cheaper than retailer 'B' yet a $3 saving was getting positive votes.

I'm not personally in the market for a Wii but for some people $299 delivered is (was) still the best price out there.

I understand some people have had issues with COTD and fair enough, sounds like there were issues once, but it sounds like these have been attempted to be addressed over time.

      • I have had my dramas with COTD back over a year ago, like taking up to 3 weeks to deliver & no tracking details, not replying to emails. But lately The service has been spot on. The quality of their products isnt always up to PAR with that "other" 1 deal 1 day website, but there is a lot more variety and the old saying goes "you get what you pay for" which is what I now call dealextreme 90% of the stuff I have bought there is now in the bin.

  • I've never had any problems with COTD and have ordered heaps of stuff with them, either way its still a good $30 cheaper than most shops. If I didn't already have one I would have loved to get one at $299 lol

  • snagged one, I am going to softmod it & give it to my son, now all I need is a 320Gb (Approx 90 Games) USB Harddrive

    • The "other" one deal one day shop that you mention is selling one today? 320GB pocket drive for a bit less than $100 :)

  • it's amazing how many retailers still sell these as a basic console with no extras (eg.ToysRUs/Myer/BigW/Kmart/Target) for $399 or close to it.
this unit has been around since december 2006 — I know it has ongoing popularity, but still at the full price, which is now higher than the Xbox360, it's hard to see why anyone would buy one any more (if not just for WiiFit which adds a load more $$$).
not only that, but the 360 and Wii are due to be superceded before long, so it might be better to wait for the new model than pay the same money now…

    • I think your missing the Point the Wii is really for Kids, try telling that to a seven year old. Both Microsoft and Nintendo have said we wont see a new generation of console anytime soon. Although a new console based of the current 360 platform with interactive technology is currently being worked on and a new thin Sony "PayStation" 3 is also in the works.

      • It's not really for kids. It amazes me that almost every week some middle age mum or friend in their 20s or 30s that I know buys a Wii just for them.
