  • I saw it this morning and bought it heh. If only the DLC is for sale as well but base game should be fun enough

I used to want the DLC too, but according to this comment on a previous bargain the DLC is not worth buying.

looks like a it will be skipped then haha. Priced at 6.99 at steam store. I'll just enjoy the base game.

  • Awesome game…. until your main character dies :(
ProTip: When going on missions, especially military ones - make sure you're well stocked!

  • Is it worth it? or.. should I save $5?

It's alright. Sometimes it can be a little unoptimised and you'll need to restart the game. The port is 50/50. For this price I'd try it out, performance issues aside it's pretty fun.

So the Humble store is the new dominos i see.

Isn't Dick Smith the new dominos?

  • Good game, as close to my ideal zombie game. Some aciton, but sim management at the same time.

unfortunately, a lot of bugs and whatnot on the xbox 360 version took some away from the game.

  • Bugger - missed it

Good game, I played on the PC and loved it. Can get a bit repetitive after a while though. Basically a 3rd person Zombie slash-fest. You start off with a friend on a camping trip and the zombie apocalypse happens. The rest is fairly typical of the genre. You find other survivors and setup shop in a 'base'. You go on 'missions' to find stuff or other survivors to buildup your base. The original has a bit of a storyline through it with the typical military conspiracy, other groups of evil survivors etc etc. If you follow through the missions there is a penultimate scene where the survivors get to escape the zombie infested valley.

The DLC was disappointing because instead of opening up new terrain or adding a new storyline all it did was allow you to take a few of the survivors from your abse and setup in another base to re-start building up again. Obviously after a while running over herds of zombies in an SUV starts to get a bit repetitive. You can build up character skills and you can choose different types of facilities to buildup your base you can even find kick@ss weapons around the place to use but in the end the whole go out with 1 or 2 others, find something, kill a few zombies and come back does get repetitive.

I read somewhere that a major expansion was in the works. I didnt have any bugs in my version on a PC. Overall I loved it until I had done the basic missions over and over too many times. If you liked driving over people in GTA this is definitely for you! Well worth the asking for this deal IMO.
