  • Hi unloadmymind. I posted this 2 days ago, then asked the mods to remove it as even with the discount, fares are way higher than you'd expect. Almost as if AirNZ upped the fares before the discount. Test it out for Los Angeles, San Francisco etc, and you'll see what I mean. Cheers mate.

  • Aren't we up to USA400 now?

    • +1

I really feel for the OP as it's his first post. But this isn't a great offer by AirNZ.

  • sowee, i'm a newbie hehehe

  • My backside would probably enjoy a stopover in auckland my wallet would prefer a direct service…

  • Although all airlines are slightly different and it's difficult to draw direct comparisons on service, meals, luggage etc, $1561 (after $300 discount)from SYD to LAX return one of the cheapest around (of the major airlines)…. Next cheapest I can find is United at $1604.

Dates used: Dep 2/8/14 Ret 12/8/14.

  • The point that is missed is that this deal is for short dated flights.

Compared to 6 months out or fares booked 6 months ago flights to the US are around $1800 (+- 100 or so)

Those booked ahead are around the $1200 mark

So horses for courses, if you want a flight departing soon, then this is a fairly good deal.

On Webjet for example the AirNZ flights are showing $300 higher - which reflects that you need to enter the code for the deal.
