Was after a Fuji camera and noticed that DigiDirect has reduced the X-A1 price to $399.
Went into the store and picked up one.
Apparently they ordered around 500 units and selling them at a reduced price.

Grey market is around $500+ (http://www.digitalrev.com/product/fujifilm-x-a1-with-xc/MTEw…)

Same body as X-M1 but with a different sensor.

Image quality wise, very little difference to the more expensive X-M1

  I canceled the order not long ago. This seller does not keep their stock available even it's available online. Unless you are happy to wait for 3 weeks after ordering.

    You are correct, their online shop is different from the store. I've ordered things before online and always was on back order.

    For this camera, I just walked into their King St store. Plenty of stock

      Same, I just go directly to the store (although I admit not everyone can do that). There's 2 within 10-15 mins of me. I call up and if they have stock, I'll go and get it. If not, never mind.

      I'm tempted by this but I'm invested in too many systems already.

    I ordered online from these guys for a recent deal and found I had to wait, but they responded to emails quickly, I was kept updated when the item was shipped, I could track the delivery online, and the wait was shorter than the 10-15 days that they had originally indicated. In short, I got the camera I wanted for a great price, and was happy with the service.

    Only if you want to start playing with lenses. Fujinon XF lenses are not cheap. Otherwise the X20 lens is quite capable. Put it this way… I sold my X10 and bought the XE1… Never looked back!

      I do miss the viewfinder coming from a SLR, wish I had the money for X-E1.

    Yes kit lens is average.
    Would you recommend any prime lens ?
    I like the small 27mm 2.8 lens for it's small form factor

      56mm f1.2 might be an overkill but the 35mm f1.4 is nice.

      You might be surprised by the 18-55mm f2.8-4 as I was.

  Excellent deal OP, picked one up from DigiDirect yesterday at their Melbourne Store. Called in the morning and they held it for me, great service and an excellent camera.

  The 16-50 standard lens is very good and there are several reports that the 18mm is good, but I will be picking up a 35mm F1.4 for sure.
