  • Nice deal :)

  • How much is it usually? and does it hae Wifi?

    • Who knows. Not always for sale. Not a smart tv so no wifi

I bought a Vivid from Aldi a couple of years ago and the audio out only works on the anaolg and digital TV. This means you have to live with the crappy sound from the TV for everything else. Not saying this model has the same problem but after getting the proverbial "we never heard of that before" from their tech support, I discovered the problem on a forum other ppl had the same problem. So check it out guys before you buy.

    • Hi PKM, is the "Headphone Jack" referring to in the specs audio out?

      • I can't say for this latest offer (haven't looked at the specs) … but the Vivid has the red, white & yellow RCA sockets

In the end I swapped it for a Kogan TV and it has the same sockets but the audio out on that works with any input.

    • same here with the Bauhn 47"; doesn't pass thru audio from external sources. Huge PITA - can't use headphones unless you're watching live TV, which is like never.

Gee the remote must be something. 1x pic of TV, but 3x pics of the remote!

    • a tv is a tv but remote can make or break the deal!

  • Anyone with this set comment on the quality?

    • -3

No, but I have bought an Aldi TV before. The quality was rubbish and the store had no interest in honouring the guarantee.

I would stay away unless desperate.

We've never had a single problem returning things to Aldi in the 60 day grace period, or in the warranty period. That's using any of the 7 or so stores within cooee of us. We've also often taken things back to a different store than we bought them from in the 60 day period and had no problems. In fact we once took back a media player that was almost a year out of warranty and they even refunded that 100%.

Say what you like about their gear (some is crap, some aint so bad), but their return policy is very generous. On the upside, this is a Bauhn, which is one of the better brands they carry, along with Medion.

    • Not on this model. I bought the 47" 200Hz model a few years ago and it's still going strong. Built in speakers aren't the greatest but most people run a theater setup anyway.
Certainly never had an issue with it and it's lasted longer than LG models friends have got since.

I got the 58" a while back for $888 , great tv but my remote doesn't look so good…. Thinking I might grab this for the remote

    • +3

Thats an expensive remote your looking at….

    • +1

      Just get a universal remote…

  • The specs show a rather poor Contrast Ratio: 3000:1 and Response time (gt): 8ms. Does this mean that during the World Cup you may be lucky to see the ball hit the back of the net 'in real time' or will the screen ghost?

    • +5

Australia will be lucky to hit the back of the net at all.

    • 8ms would be like 125 fps.
Broadcast is like 25 fps, so I'd guess no problems

If I'm wrong, please let me know.

  • The good:
    - Cheap price for a 50" full hd led tv
    - PVR recording
    - Decent remote

    The bad:
    - 60hz
    - A grade panel - ??
    - Low output out of speakers (8w)
    - Slow response time (8ms)

I think its good as a bedroom TV to watch normal channels on.

It comes with a 60 day satisfaction guarantee so if you don't like it, you can always return it, just hold onto your receipt. << worth a shot..

  • What are the chances of this tv lagging when playing PS4?

  • +1

It has an 8ms response time, which isn't the best, when lots of monitors have 2ms. however it's 8 milliseconds, it won't matter unless you're super serious about your FPS ganes

  • what does anyone think of the outdoor antenna for $50? https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/wednesday-04-june-20…

  • anybody get this?
