    SCA Trolley Jack - Hydraulic, 1400kg ($24.99):
Are they suitable for Ford Falcon?
or Only just for smaller car like Honda Jazz(?)

You should be able to lift a corner of a falcon with it no issues, I've got one and had a falcon prior to current car, always worked fine. However, if you're going to be getting under there, I'd recommend getting a decent pair of stands as well as seals in jacks can and do fail and you wouldn't want that happening while you're under it.

Yes they're suitable for a Falcon but like the guy above said, buy stands.
NEVER EVER get under a car supported only by a jack, good ones can and do fail, let alone cheap junk like these jacks. If the jack does fail while the car is in the air, the car will be fine if it falls onto its wheels.

If you've got a Falcon, I'd also suggest to get the 6x cans of degreaser while it's on special. Every two weeks, spray some degreaser all over engine where the oil is leaking to clean it up and stop losing your friends since they've stopped inviting you over because your car keeps leaving oil stains on their driveway.

Even if you have a 10 tonne Jack, you never get under the car without supports in place

    • To raise a corner at a time yes, to raise the entire front or rear no - the weight limit would be ok, but getting the jack to a lifting point to raise the front (for an oil change or whatever) would be near on impossible - really short handle, high point in the middle of the jack which makes it hard to get under the car, and the bleed valve that you turn to lower the jack would be dangerous to use (as you couldn't have your whole body including arms etc out from under the car like you could with a real trolley jack).

    • i've got this itty bitty jack. it's useful for when you have to work in a tight space like my car port. because my car is slightly lowered, i have to use the factory jack to lift it up a bit and use the trolley jack to lift it the rest of the way.

i would love that kincrome one they have for lowered cars but i simply don't have the space or budget for it

I have one of the cheapies and it has issues lifting up Commodores and Falcons high enough to get wheels off the ground for changing. Also it seems to have reduced the max height it can lift over time as I used to be able to lift dad's VX2 up onto stands for an oil change but now it doesn't want to go high enough. Personally I would buy one of the next models up for a large car…

    • If it reduces its height, it's because some of the hydraulic fluid has leaked out or air has taken its place.

This sounds unbelievable however most of the time the jacks begin failing either because they're tipped over, or aren't used enough, causing the rubber seals to dry out, crack and leak the hydraulic fluid.

  • I am looking for jack to raise corner of house to level by shoving in filler(fibro sheeting etc ). Brick blocks, jack on raise house 6centremetres .

Will this be strong enough? Thanks

Of course, just make sure you use jack stands!

      • Thanks, that solves the difficult stump position.
