    I won't mention the $19 Sennheiser HD201 headphone deal from COTD because there are too many know it all trolls out there that don't know a bargain when they see it!! And please, no Bose fanboys need apply…:-)

    • I shall troll you because I've been waiting since the last time these headphones went on sale a few weeks back. Shame I couldn't get them with the 12% off too, it would have negated the delivery fee.

      Spend a bit of money and prove to yourself that you're right, before calling other people know it alls, at least other people investigate the relative strengths of these products - rather than finding one they like and then trying to imply that you've established that the pinnacle of audio reproduction can be had for $19.95

      What do you think will happen when I buy HD201's, out of curiosity? That I'll realise you're right?

      (Bare in mind I own Sennheiser HD800s)

      • I'm actually with you. At this price in not expecting hi-def audio but i think these will be value for money. $200, no way but for $69 i can't complain.

      lol the troll is calling others trolls…

      Here's some logic…

      If Sennheiser created a perfect headphone that can best all other headphones and is selling them for <$20. Why do they keep making more expensive ones? Based on your claims, no one would EVER buy the higher end stuff because the HD201 is "better". And how do you explain how other brands are staying a float? Mind you, there is something called brand bias and what not but consumers are that dumb to spend $300+ when they can spend <$20 for the perfect headphones

      Oh and here's my list of headphones if you think i just don't like Sennheiser.

      HD439
      CAL!2
      Logitech UE6000
      Thinking of getting an HD598

        The HD 201 is excellent if you don't enjoy listening to music, or sounds.

      • How do the CAL!2 compare to the first one? I have the first ones but they're the only headphones I own right now. Keen to know about other headphones.

      • I own the HD439, they are okay. I don't know how the other headphones you listed compare, I'd imagine the Cal!2 and UE6000 would be significant improvement over the 439.

        As for the HD201 if you happy with them, then don't worry about trying to convince others. Everyone has their own set of standards, I made the mistake of testing more expensive headphones and now cheap ones don't cut it for me.

          @Itwo

          Unfortunately, I don't own the first CAL! so i don't know how they compare, i heard they were an improvement on Head Fi though.

          @Ronnnie

          The CAL!2 would be the best one i have thus far, the UE6000 is very close though there are some cons about it, though it is very minor.

          The HD439 feels more neutral so its good is some genres though i don't really mind, although currently my favourites is a toss up between the UE6000 and the CAL!2 and the CAL!2 is winning.

        • Thanks for the feedback ProjectZero. Yeah I think the UE6000 are more suited to people that like bass. I almost got the UE6000 but ds screwed up my order, so I ended up getting Hd25-1 II instead, a bit more expensive though. They sound excellent but the downside to the 25-11 II is they aren't that comfortable, so I've been considering trying to get something similar price range with more comfort, but I suspect I'd be disappointed by sound quality in comparison.

  • I hope no one actually considers me a troll, because I was just joking.

  • I am no expert on headphones however I recently got the Sony MDR-10RC and for me these were a great all round headphone. To be honest there are probably better sets out there for dedicated music and some better for movies. But for something that does both very well and had great clarity and great range without amplifying any specific sounds (ie super-mega-dooper-poundy bass boost.
    These hit everything just right. I wont say how much I paid because to be honest at the time I bought them I probably paid more than they were truly worth to an Ozbargainer as I had a gift card that I needed to use and didnt want anything else.

    On the day I tested the 3 different tracks models from Sol Republic, Sennheiser 419 429 and 439 and a few others And all in all the Sonys won hands down.

    • At that price range I'd be more interested in knowing how they stack up against Beyer, Audio Technica etc

      But those brands are rarely available to audition.

  • Sennheiser RS170 Wireless headphones are on special too.
    $199. Save $250. Online only. Ends 3/6/14.
