$166 at MSY, would rather pay the extra $7 to get it instantly then have to wait two weeks.

As "instantly" as driving somewhere, and queuing up? I agree for many the small saving's aren't worth it but for those not in a rush who'd be ordering online in AUS anyway, then they'll save $20 or so. Or more if you order more things from Amazon at same time.

Speak for yourself. My local MSY is 5 minutes away. One of the many important criteria I selected my house by was proximity to electronics stores/PC hardware retailers. There are about 15 of them in a 20km radius.

        • For those of us that live anywhere else in Aus that isn't a metropolitan centre, how much would shipping be from MSY/PCCG etc. Would make the amazon price difference more substantial…

        • Around $12 or so I believe. I grabbed the $25 SSD cache drive and paid about that in shipping. I'd still buy locally than overseas.

      • Still, local warranty on MSY goods so no bumming around waiting for USA courier before replacement

  • I just checked the pricing of the shipping to metro Melbourne, and it is showing me $5.77 which makes it USD 140.76 (~AUD 152.29)

Edit: Nevermind :P OP has the correct price with Amazon Currency Converter (which can be avoided)

  • Seeing these getting cheaper and cheaper every day makes me both want one really bad, and wait another week before i buy one to save a few dollars

The 1TB version there has just gone up $20US. It was $449 yesterday.

      • i was hoping to get one tonight for my mac. guess ive missed the boat, or just pony up the extra $20

        • Back down to $449 again. No idea why it bounces around so much.

  • Cheers, just what I needed :D

  • That flash drive they have isn't too bad either.

  • Not bad, we have a corporate account with IngramMicro, just bought one last month for $159 + GST + delivery.
