TP-Link TL-PA411KIT AV500 Nano Powerline Adapter Kit $48.99 + $1.99 Shipping @ OzGameShop

60

Found this while searching for ethernet over power adaptors. Seems to be cheaper than what staticice returns.

Pic on the site seems to be different from the official TP-Link pic, but description seems legit. This is the 500 Mbps version, expect to get 70-80 Mbps irl.

One thing to be cautious of - looks like pic has UK plugs (not Australian plugs)…

    • Just about to ask, is it local stock? Ozgameshop use to ship from UK.

  • Be careful, I think these may come with UK power connectors since ozgameshop is based in the UK.

    Edit: Beaten x2!

  • Pardon for my ignorance, does it matters if it has uk plug? Will it still works in australia?
    Thank you.

    • Should be fine with an adapter, but kind of makes the nano aspect redundant.

    • I wouldn't use EOP adapters via any sort of buffer (powerboard, adapter, etc). All of them unequivocally state you should plug them directly into a power socket.

People have reported latency issues when using EOP adapters on a powerboard for instance.

Quite a few powerboards have surge protection which causes issues with EoP. A simple plug converter has nothing in it other than a few pieces of metal. It will work fine

      • thanks all. so you reckoned it should be fine if i just use a normal UK to AU adapter, and plug it to power port directly.

        • I've done it before, it works fine.
Make sure your adapter is a dumb adapter. Some of the newer adapters feature surge protection.

      • Not going to cause latency. That's not what latency is.

  • Pic on the site seems to be different from the official TP-Link pic

    How? Looks identical.

But on Newegg and Amazon they show a different looking adapter kit. Seems the images for the PA411 and PA511 (identical but with a Gigabit Ethernet port) are getting mixed up.

  • This is cheap compared to what Ive been looking at, I didnt think these thing would cost so much, dont think i will bother.

  • I don't know the specs but Foxtel customers can purchase a Powerline Adapter for $50 under the extras tab on their account

    • Foxtel gives an AV200 adapter kit. You can get it for free with a new installation or with a move if you are getting an IQ box

  • What annoys me is that TP-Link have an AU model on their website with power passthrough, so you're not consuming the power socket on your wall, but I couldn't find anywhere selling them.

  • Hi all. Thanks again. I have been searching today and come across wireless1's ebay store is selling for $58 delivered. Is aus stock, so I guess with less than $10 different, I think I will be getting that instead. Thanks.
