Upload your photo see if I stand a chance?

        • LOL… should be a website for this. Would you give me a bargain based on how I looked? Yes/No?

        • No

    • +1

I called them. They had stock but wouldn't match. Said it was too low

  • +12

Funnily enough I walked in to Big W this afternoon and was told the $198 for Skylanders Basic Bundle is the normal price, there's low stock so if I want one I better get it…. so I did!

    • Which Big W?

      • Doncaster VIC

    • +1

I just called up Big W South Yarra and they have confirmed this. I'm picking it up tonight. Thanks Herbus.

    • Thanks! Just picked one up!

    • Thanks lots, I picked one up :(

Little stock left in Mirrabooka, WA!

      • +1

Ack! That was meant to be a smiley face! :)))))

    • +2

Picked one up too! FYI, EB Games will give $18 store credit for the Skylanders crap that comes with it.
I got them to price match Mario Kart 8 for $58 so got it for $40 after trading in.

      • Wait, really? Even the game? I didn't think they would accept it since it isn't for resale.

        • I spoke to someone at EB, well I guess they do!

    • Just wanted to also say thank you to herbus. I managed to grab one at $198. I didn't ask questions, just scanned at $198 and smiled walking away!

  • +1

We can only hope that this will be the "standard" price for Wii U Basic bundles.

  • Also picked one up at Box Hill. :) Yay! Herbus you done good!

    • Did they say how many they had left in stock? Might have to go first thing in the morning.

  • Just picked one up at South Yarra, good call herbus!

  • Got it (wii u bundle) from Kilkenny SA right before they closed. Going to gift it to my nephew.

    Ps: staff not so friendly

  • +2

Picked up one at Merrylands NSW. They seemed to have few if anyone is interested

    • Thanks Pripan77! Drove to Big W Merrylands after reading your post. None on display but asked the staff and they went to the back to get 1 for me. She asked "Which Wii U Bundle? The $198 one?" Too bad they don't have any Mario Kart 8 in stock. Will have to take a chance during sale later.

      • Glad it worked out for you MrBurns. I asked at EBGames and they wouldn't price match. Went to JB and they price matched mario kart 8 to $58. Try JB.

  • any chance of a receipt mightfes

  • Can also confirm for Mandurah, WA. Rang up initially and asked how much stock there was and was told 3(now 2 as I picked one up). I'd recommend going in first thing in the morning for those interested.

Cheers herbus for the tip-off :).

  • Went to BigW Taigum, QLD and had the same response. Got it for $198 and they don't have them on display. So make sure to ask the staff to get one for you. They said it is the everyday price.

  • Confirmed in QLD too $198.

  • Got one at box hill in Victoria. It wasn't on delay and they didn't have any price tags either. Just ask for the skylanders bundle and it scans though at 198

  • Got 1 at TTP in adelaide, had 1 left in the cabinet but may be more outback

Ps- it was already priced at $198

    • if you can get to marion, i think the home ent lady said they had 11 in stock before i bought mine. i'd call up beforehand though if you were going to be making a fair trek, just to be safe.

i asked her if she could scan the swap force bundle because the price on the window still said $350, and after she scanned it and it showed up as $198, she took the price sign down :)

      • Just got 1 from Marion, had no problems getting it for $198 not sure how many left. The ozbargainer in me wanted to wait to get it cheaper when the kmart ones go on sale. But I thought you never know what could happen when they go on sale at kmart so the extra money 20 bucks is worth it to avoid potential disappointment. And hey until I saw the kmart deal I was ecstatic with this price.

        Thanks op

  • Called up Big W Werribee and was told the wii u skylanders bundle is online only… Color me confused and agitated.

    • +1

Don't worry just go in and get it. It scans at $198.

    • I'd try another store…maybe Altona Meadows?

  • I called Big W Epping (VIC) and was told they no longer stock the Wii U Skylanders bundle.

  • if anyones interested if your a member and u got the email you can get all the deals now

  • There really isn't a lot in there this year, though am interested to see if the $10 games are online…..12 mins to go!

  • Website is up, but no Wii U Skylanders bundle?

  • Is anyone seeing the Wii U Basic skylanders bundle?

  • +2

What BS is this???? where is my Wii U??????

    • Its in store only

      • +1

        BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • Is $378 a good price for the WiiU/MK8 Premium bundle?

    • It's a pretty standard sale price tbqh

      • Fair enough. It won't let me pick up until November so I'll wait.

  • why can't I click and connect to pickup soon - only layby to pick up after Nov 3.

    WTF?

  • Am i missing something here … why can't i just buy it now?

    • +4

looks like we're all in the same boat. The boat which is sailing towards the island of disappointment…. :(

      • Yeah same. Looks like a problem with the site setup. Surely its not supposed to be like this??

        • Disappointing!

      • I got off that boat last week when I got my Wii-U + MK8. :P

  • can't even find the Wii U skylanders bundle on the site now

  • Looks like the Kmart deal is a go-er if this is sorted soon.

  • I went through the 131 page catalogue and the Skylanders Wii U bundle isn't there. Could the link to the page just be a mistake?

    Link: https://www.bigw.com.au/offer/catalogue#view=product&itemId=…

    • +2

It's on the third page, bottom corner. There's no buy button though. It's 7pm! Wut a waste of time.

    • +1

      Its on page 3

      • Oh my mistake. I was looking at the back pages where the other consoles were

if i had known i could of got it in store, i would of just done that.

    • I'm getting some very different pricing on a couple of those links - now showing as $24 (save $380) for the first and third ones. Now to see if they honour their pricing.

      • They won't honour it, but no harm trying right?

edit: Looks like a layby order only to be delivered between 3rd Nov-1st Dec; $24 is partial deposit?
Other than that its most likely another pricing error.

  • +4

The Wii U is not available online. It's in store only

    • +2

They just reworded it from online to in-store only on this very page in the last 5 or so minutes https://www.bigw.com.au/offer/catalogue#view=product&itemId=…

      • -1

Its always been in store only, it was under the opening day deals. The statement about it being available online was generic.

        • +4

Forgive me for not following this when the product page said "Available online in 18th June from 7pm" in 24pt bold type.

        • Its generic, they probably just aadded it to all the items to make it easier

    • Wii U Skylanders Bundle

Opening day deals Thursday June 26 in store only.
      $198.00 bundle
Available online from 7PM June 18.
      In stores from June 26.

    • Cheers going out this morning and I'll pop in to my local store.

Looks to be BigW vs Kmart instore next Thu 26th. Take your pick in which one you want to raid.

    • +1

Its available for $198 in store at big w atm

  • They didn't have it at the Brisbane CBD store. Disappointing.

    • I called around yesterday, only taigum had stock on the northside. They still might have a few left

    • I put one (apparently the last one) on hold at Big W Calamvale. I don't need it anymore though if anyone wants to pick it up PM me for details

BIG W Hi Rebecca, during the Total Toy Domination sale period the only purchase option available online will by Lay-by. Regards, BIG W

  • Looks like the sale is layby only… from Big W support:

    You: at 19:17:59
Hi I'm trying to place an order but the only option is layby… how do i just buy it?
    Katriona: at 19:22:25
Thank you for your patience Bob. At this stage the only option available online is the lay-by option.
    Katriona: at 19:22:45
The lay-by option is available until the 9/7/14.
    You: at 19:23:05
When will a regular option be available? As I do not want layby
    Katriona: at 19:24:11
The buy now option will be available on the 9/7/14.
    You: at 19:24:48
Ok, but the toy sale will be over.. So I cannot buy online for the toy sale?
    Katriona: at 19:25:43
The toy sale is only available for lay-by.
    You: at 19:26:17
Well that was very misleading marketing. When this sale goes to instore, is that also only layby?
    Katriona: at 19:27:13
The toy sale for in-store begins on the 26/6/14.
    You: at 19:27:36
Is the in store sale only for layby as well?
    Katriona: at 19:30:29
Thank you for your patience. I've been advised that the toy sale for the in-store is also only available for lay-by only.

    • what
So I go to buy an item in the store and they'll tell me I can only buy it layby?

    • +2

I think that's a mistake, no way would they have a layby only sale in store!

    • Wow, that's terrible. Does she not even realise how stupid it sounds?

  • Absolute fail!!!

Console are not included in the online sale!!!!!!!!!!

    GRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • Still getting the "we are getting ready" page…grrr

    • +1

You aren't missing anything unless you're hoping to layby for Christmas

  • OMG 3/4 of the catalogue isn't on there….what the????

and $9 shipping for 3 items cancels out most of the savings…..why no store pick up for free like ALL the other department stores????

  • +5

Couldn't get $58 Mario Kart 8 and went on HN live chat to see if they could match it.

And they beat it too :)

    • +1

      I tried and he said

since it is an online only promotion we are not able to match the price with them

      :(

      • same

  • I was expecting them to increase prices a few dollars on DVDs before the 25% off sale, but instead they just completely gutted 90% of the stock online…

  • comment deleted

  • Over on OCAU somebody said that Kmart is going to run the Skylanders bundle for $20 less @ $178 from the 26th. No idea how true that is, but if so, there's gonna be another frenzy and the ppl who jumped massive hoops to try and get one from Big W are going to have a case of buyer's remorse, LOL.

EDIT: ah, of course - here it is: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/149270
Why did I think that any source would be better than OzBargain? LOL

  • +1

    Hi tightarse,

Might want to update that the online sale is only for layby to be picked up from November.

Alternatively, the sale price is available for everyday rewards card members from today until the official sale starts next Thursday. Just scan your card and the price drops!

If you don't have one, just pop by Woolworths and grab one and scan for the cheap price :)

Be warned though, not all the toys have been displayed and not everything is as cheap as it appears to be (i.e Mega Bloks Go Thomas Go - 34 pieces at $16 = 0.47 per piece. Target has the 130 piece at $50 = 0.38 per piece!)

Bought the fisher price classic 3 in 1 trike for $59, good price!

    • +1

Alternatively, the sale price is available for everyday rewards card members from today until the official sale starts next Thursday. Just scan your card and the price drops!

      Is that for all items?

      • +1

It applies to all items within the toy domination sale catalogue (130+ pages)

There are two other catalogues out which the everyday rewards preview sale does not apply to, the normal one and an online only toy domination sale (much smaller catalogue) .

        • awesome :)

Do you have a source? (so I can "inform" my local Big W if they don't get it)

        • +2

Below is an excerpt of the email sent out, sorry, didn't see the home entertainment products bit. You might need to call the store about the individual item to see if they consider it a home entertainment product ?

Your exclusive Member only pre-sale starts today, simply scan your card for great prices. Get ready for TOTAL TOY DOMINATION!

Offers run from 19 June 2014 to 25 June 2014
          ^ Excludes Home Entertainment products.

        • You're a legend, thanks :)

        • +1

Home entertainment products includes all Consoles/games/DVD/Blurays etc.
