free shipping used to be what they where all about.
i agree, they used to be free shipping for everything, it was even plastered all over their website back then…. seems this has quietly dissppeared, prob. with bigw/kmart crushing them on day1 new game sale prices — which would never have happened had OGS not try to crush them first. business 101.
Pretty sure they've had new owners that are the major cause of their perception issues , they do get a lot of schmoofties buying from them thinking their in Australia so with regular problems like that and frequent games not turning up, a small delivery fee isn't high on my gripes with ogs. Pricing and competent staff are my biggest gripes . Got an email from them about the World Cup , they used a ps2 game almost hidden in the background as their 'from' price…
Where are their based? I order 1 week ago and shipped but no tracking number and no receipt of game at this stage. I'm sure it will turn up but when? Thought they were oz based.

Customer service and delivery times used to be excellent. Out of the many dozens of orders I made from them, I only had a couple go missing. Any time I had to contact them, they replied promptly and helpfully. Haven't bothered with them since they have upped their prices and added shipping on. I bought Mario Kart 8 from Big W for $58 on release, and OzGS is advertising it for $62.99 + postage with a ~2 week wait. Tell 'em they're dreaming.
In saying this - last time I checked (few months ago) their board game prices were still very good.
I suspect it is government regulations related, that caused them to lose their edge.

Wow. Free shipping no longer standard from OGS? That's a shame. Last few things I've bought were steam keys so had no idea.
It was never free. They just included it in the price your paid. With the AUD going down and their entire business model being a shop for Australians meant that they probably needed to make their prices look a as cheap as possible. In this situation I would have removed the shipping out of the pricing to lower the prices a couple of $$.
Actually they raised their prices by about 3 or 4 percent right before they included a shipping fee…
You're right, it wasn't ever free - but they have certainly bumped their prices up considerably, to no longer be worth the wait / even be cheaper than local stock.
I also assumed they still had free shipping on everything.
Who bought them out?
