Fairly good deal if you were after one!

  I don't believe so. I purchased a brand new iP5 64GB for $550 over a year ago. (It was a phone acquired by a Telstra contract renewal).

    I don't think they can be - Apple refurbs never have any scratches and/or marks. Plus, I have never seen Apple selling second hand phones.
