Got a brand new second gen for sale in classified section

  • You might have to fix the link and it's refurbished not brand new.

  • WXGA 1280 x 800 resolution. First Gen Refurbished.

    showing as $89 / $129 now

    • Indeed; for $89+pp it's a bargain.

  • +3

Less $10 for joining their spam list.

$139 shipped 32gb used was exciting last year, but so many more options now.
Beware of problems: wrong firmware (needed reflashing), loose battery connector, bad touchscreen (connector?)

Still would choose Nexus due to google updates.

the only quirk with 1st gen is it slows down to a crawl after a month or 2 of usage, didnt matter what roms, what tweaks used, so every so often a reset is required and the cycle repeats itself.
other than that this is quite the deal for the price.

    • If you are lucky. Mine just stopped switching on one day. No lights, not nothing. Plug it in and charge it all day, no luck.

      • Many fixes on youtube

  • Arghhh i just bought two of the Asus Memopad HD7!

    • +4

Both bargains, and you got the brand new one with SD-slot. Quit complaining.

      • +1

alright then. i thought nexus 7 (even if its frist gen) > Memopad

        • Some YouTube reviews they are almost on par but I would love the Asus more because of the micro SD port.

Price in title is still wrong; once you select storage size it jumps from $109 to $129.

Something weird happening with the link provided.

Price jumps back to $149 once you proceed to checkout. Plus postage goes from $5.95 to 7.95. :(

    What a mess

  • OK, correct prices are $129 & $149.

According to the very patient and friendly customer service agent on the phone, the link provided is "not part of oo's website", its an "old cookie link" pointing to an old deal no longer available.

So no Nexus for me today.

    • Now, prices are $109 and $149 (bad).
Do TGG still have the ASUS HD for $99?

      • Call around. I am sure some TGG still have some in stock just your choice of transcover colour isn't much

  • Product Subtotal $109.00
    Delivery $5.96
    Order Total $114.96

    • +1

Just got the same deal, total: $114.96

I would not recommend them. I got 32 GB one for $120 from Grays last year. The charger stopped after 4 months just after the warranty. Every time the OS software updates it goes into boot mode. I have to delete everything and reinstall Android OS from scratch. Better get ASUS one for $99 from Harvey Norman if available.

    • Every time the OS software updates it goes into boot mode.

They put the wrong firmware in. Once you flash the correct firmware (or wait for the local service centre to fix it) you should not have the problem again.
I hope this is not still happening. When you get it, so an immediate OTA firmware update to test it.

    • Don't refurbed ASUS get 1 year warranty with ASUS?

      • They do. He must have been confused by the useless Grays 90-day warranty. Not too late.

  • Regarding selling the Nexus 7 32GB WiFi I'm still looking for a value reference point to sell my one that's still under warranty.

  • Asus at $99 is not bad as a color eBook reader. Will pickup today.
