  • Matches the cheapest price on StaticIce but yours has free postage and free USB adapter :)

    http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=D7+AC1750&s…

    Seems like a good deal

Here are 2 reviews I found:
    http://geeklingo.net/tp-link-archer-d7-ac1750-dual-band-adsl…

    http://www.impulsegamer.com/tp-link-archer-d7-ac1750-wireles…

    • Fair enough, still matches the lowest price on staticice though and free post is a + in my book.

  • Anybody knows if this is a single or dual core router?
    And at what speed?
    TIA

Hmmm, this is currently cheaper at Wireless1, $149 + shipping (or free pickup in Parramatta) : http://www.wireless1.com.au/tp-link-archer-d7-ac1750-wireles…

    • +1

Yep, cheaper at Wireless1from yesterdays ClickFrenzy deal. $156.44 shipped or $149 pickup.

Thanks - price edited! Of course, orders that just came through will have new price. Cheers

        • Thanks rep. Just reading through reviews. I'm a big fan of the Nighthawk but can't justify the price.

        • nice one rep!

  • Promocode TP-Link didn't work

    • Sorry bondy28 - Promocode was supposed to be: BONUS.

  • PayPal surcharge? 0_o

  • Any way to remove the shipping for my mate
    :(

    • +3

don't worry - we will remove the wrong charges on your order.

  • Very good modem! http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2234830 and great price..

I bought one down the road from Netplus for $179 recently (excluding postage)..should have waited!

Strange that I sent away for the dongle (by redemption) straight away but have not received any acknowledgement from TP Link yet.

Thanks for the review. Next time, stop going "down the road" and come here instead!

This is a expensive modern, why is that?
Im more interested on how good the software is in the thing then how much power the wireless antennas are.

I use a netgear 300 dgn2200 and want something better.

Is this an expensive AC AP AMLagonda? You have stated a single component of the device is expensive…
If you are only buying for the modem component then buy something else?

  • I have read the modems chipset is BCM is that broadcom which is better for longer lines?

    • Someone has said that, but where is the proof, I also am interested in this theory as my internet is slow.

    • As the TP-Link representative stated in this WP thread, it does use a Broadcom chipset.

      but where is the proof

The proof is in the pudding. Countless testimonials on WP can attest to significant gains in downstream sync speeds (on the order of 1-3Mbp/s extra) on Broadcom-based modems versus non-Broadcom based modems, especially for users that are more than 2KM away from an exchange and/or have high downstream attenuation & SNR.

For instance, prior to having a Broadcom-based Billion 7800VDOX, I had a Belkin F1PI242EGau. My distance to exchange is roughly 2.5Km.

Here's the before and after stats:
      Old Belkin Modem
      New Billion Modem

The downstream attenuation was reduced by 10dB, the SNR/Noise Margin by half, and my actual sync speed increased by ~2.5Mbp/s. The 7800VDOX lets me tweak the SNR to set it as low as it can go for my line quality.
