Don't know if the price is attractive to fellow bargainers.

    Yes. Yes it is.

  • Anyone has bought it from Amazon? How's the warranty process? Mine just stop working, should I post it to Amazon or covered by local Asus?

  • Anyone see any good deals for the 4g variant? Or is a 2014 model imminent

    • Nexus are dead in the water………………… WHY GOOGLE WHY!@#@

      • what do you mean dead? It's just the 1st gen that's crap.

        • S/he's referring to the rumours that the Nexus program is being discontinued. Pretty sure there's still going to be a 2014 version of the N7 though. The Android Silver rumours only talked about phones.

        • Ah! I hope they don't. The nexus tablet lines are too successful for it to be dead except for 1st gen.

        • We'll know after the Google Conference.

  • worth buying now or hanging out for a better deal?

If you need one then buy it now. If not then wait for it to be superseded. A search on the web has rumours of the Nexus 8 coming out very soon.

I thought I should share my recent xp

I bought this deal a few weeks ago from Amazon. It arrived yesterday. I eagerly opened the box to find a second hand/refurbished first generation model. The seller on Amazon goes by the name of MoneySaving Deals.

I was pretty peeved. I Spoke to Amazon through their chat service. They apologised and have said 'after they receive the tablet at their returns facility in Kentucky, they will issue a refund including postage'. I'm pretty hopeful I'll get it all back. Like the OP says, postage was great getting it here(about $10), sending it back was a little more expensive. Aus Post don't do lithium, so you have to go elsewhere. The cheapest online quote I got from 5, was about $75. Once again, because it has lithium, the couriers require you to physically go to the depot for a quote. All up it was $125 through Pack and Send. Like I said earlier, I'm hopeful I get it back.

There is no way the seller didn't know what he was doing. This was not what was being advertised.

I'm a bit reluctant to try and buy the same thing again, given what happened, but I love this 7"er and really wanted to feel like it was a bargain compared to buying locally.

There will likely be a 2014 model soon

This is actually sold by Amazon though - not a seller operating through Amazon - I doubt you'd have any problems buying this directly from them.

      • I bought from this very link my friend. It is the exact same listing.

        • I'm having problems saying it cannot be shipped to Australia. Strange. Even though I refined my search to international shipping, all of the items listed cannot be shipped. So is it just a technical problem?

Google I/O conference will be held where they are scheduled to announce a brand new 2014 tablet.

WHAT THE HECK! " We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order. "
Can't buy as this is only US national.
