always found the people at MSY friendly. Read all the time about bad service but on the odd occasion I have had to ask something they were very informative, took their time and were polite.
Which sort of annoys me with MSY lately. They seem to be attracting a less geeky crowd who are asking questions. I was in line a few weeks ago and both staff were over 15 mins dealing with customers who didn't know what they wanted (one was trying to buy headphones). It's not like you can browse while you wait for them to be free. You just need to stand in line.
To me MSY is about no customer service. Sort of like the Soup Nazi. You step to the counter, your ask for what you want. They go out the back and get it, bring it to you and you pay for it.

It's been said over and over again, why not support the company giving you the discount in the first place?
The ONLY time I would consider price-matching is when there is an extra discount.
You attempted to price match. On top of that you decided to do it at a store that doesn't even have a price-match policy. You save nothing. You wasted your time. Now you expect people here at the forums to give you sympathy. Seriously.
Just buy it from MSY.
Support the stores who bring you the best prices, don't support monopoly tactics.

2 weeks ago I them if they can price match Watch Dogs on PS4 ($89 at JB HIFI, $64 at Big W & Target). They said no. I asked why, they said because head office said so.. lame
They don't promise to price match so I guess they can come up with any excuse they like, but it is probably the way the lie slipped off the tongue so easily which worried you and should worry the salesman's girlfriend.
