Protip: Avoid cheap Belkin modems/routers like the plague.

Stay away from this model it’s a chunk of crap, got one when Officeworks first started discounting them a few years back, the Web Management Interface is buggy as hell sometimes not even accepting the right credentials even after a factory reset. The frustration from this piece of junk lead me to smash it against the brick wall in shed, never felt so much better when I saw it fall into the bin in pieces.

  • Do Yourself a favor and dont get this

I had the misfortune to configure a belkin wireless router that was included free (possibly from a Dell purchase). As others have said it is not worth the pain. If you want a router this cheap, buy a TP-Link MR3020.

  • agree… don't ever buy this! I had to reset the router a couple times in a day, then I replaced it with TPlink

    • Dont know why people rave about TPlink.I bought 3 recently, two 8990's or whatever they are (dual band n600) and a wd8960, one for myself and one for a mate and the n300 for my inlaws. All have less wifi range than the items they replaced. Same houses, poor and sometimes flaky reception in rooms that used to get decent reception. When they work they work fine, but wifi is definitely not their strong point in my experience.

The habits of the users havent changed, the only thing that has changed is the routers.

      • check for interference.
use Wifi scanner to check your surroundings.

  • only 150mbps, would rather a more powerful router for a little more.

  • These particular belkin routers are junk. Had many die on me within days of opening. Utter rubbish.

    • in my limited experience, ALL Belkin routers are junk

      • Luckily (?) for me i have only had the chance to try the one above. However, some of their USB hubs arent too bad. So i thought maybe i had a bad one.

Carrier Pigeons are more reliable and faster than this router…

  • I purchased one of these for $18 about a year or more ago as an emergency router… It would not reach 10m up an empty hall way. And when i repositioned it, it would not even handle 2 xbox 360's playing a simple car game, one wired and one wireless connection…

If they were giving these away, i would still not get one…
