Perhaps OzBargain could provide discounted Gift Cards?

With OzBargainers always looking for ways to buy discounted gift cards, perhaps OzBargain can look into a corporate program to provide them?
e.g. One or more of the following:
Via Gifte Corporate Program
Directly with Woolworths / Coles
Via Frequent Values (used by Entertainment Book and RedEnergy)

Sometimes it's not possible to get to a store to buy a physical gift card with ING (saving 5%) so an online option with a similar discount would be welcome - especially with instant delivery for verified members of OzBargain.

Sure, as long as I'm not the one stuffing the envelopes. ;)

How do these things programs work for companies?

    • As long as I'm not the one stuffing the envelopes

A corporate program through Frequent Values would mean that they stuff the envelopes.

  • +1

After the whole Woolworths $20 off $50 thing, I doubt they want to hear from Ozbargain haha

    • Different business units. I am sure that the Gift Card issuing unit would like more business.

  • Lol. No seriously. Lol.

  • How much does that cost the corporation? Free? Otherwise it wouldn't be a bargain to us :)

    • I assume that Entertainment Book, RedEnergy and Gifte are making some money, otherwise, why would they do it…
But I provided the links above so someone with authority to act on behalf of OzBargain can follow up.

  • I think this is a great idea, assuming it's not expensive for OzBargain.

    • I don't know how these things work on the back end, but potentially this could be an income stream for OzBargain.

      • Not really sure an "income stream" unless the cost of managing it is below the discount we get :) I just sent an inquiry to Gifte.com.au and see what they say about the cost of setting up a corporate account. However it seems just customised logo rather than discount.

  • IAIM was offering 12% off Woolworths gift cards however due to their manual processing / lack of IT automation overwhelmed them. They apparently were getting them from Affinity Alliance.

I also recall years ago, deals.com.au gave away a 1 year membership to similar service. I believe the company actually doing the work was the Pegasus Group

I think these will be the best bets.

  • I just found a prior suggestion for this service.

  • CashRewards are now selling Woolworths e-gift cards at 5% off, so this would appear to be possible without needing to stuff envelopes.

    • Yeah, I was just thinking about this the other day. Seems like it's going to the Everyday Giftcards website where they've setup Cashrewards. It looks like they are using a corporate login. Maybe we should query WOW?
