Looks like (at least some) bank issued cards are excluded..can't find this in amongst the measly offers available to CBA Amex holders.

  • Excludes gift cards. I wonder if Amex could pick up if it is a gift card purchase?

    • +1

They haven't in past deals (Target, Vintage Cellars, Dan Murphys).

Surely one could purchase something and then simply exchange it for a store credit (aka gift card)?

      • Prefer 1 step than 2 steps thingy and also refunding purchased items might disqualify statement credits.

        • It's not a refund - just a credit note (so no interaction with the original purchase card). But fair enough.

    • +1

Did that at Masters and got the credit. They don't know what you bought.

  • Noob question - the link just takes me to the DJs home page, where do I find the offer?

    • Go to Amex homepage, Login to your Amex account and under the offers tab you should see it.

      • Thanks, took a while to find it but got there in the end

  • Login into your Amex card, look under offers if it's there save it. Then u are set.

    • David Jones AMEX card doesn't count as Bank issued AMEX does it?!
I logged in but couldn't see the DJ offer for $50 back under the offer tab.

Anyone with DJ AMEX card can confirm?

  • Thanks. Got it. Took Bing Lee offer as well:

  • Credit may take 3-5 days to appear on your account or possibly up to 10 weeks!! Sheesh, how hard is it for companies these days to honor their deals without having to wait so long…. I'm still waiting for a $10 Costco credit from about 4 weeks ago….

    • mine have been pretty fast. matter of days

    • mine have been pretty fast. matter of hours. literally.

Did you receive email confirmation of the credit after you made the qualifying purchase? This normally comes through in the first hour after using the card.

    • it always took me 4-5 days. very quick.

  • is this for bank issued amex as well? I can't see it on my offers

    so guys… any recommendations?

would be great if the gopro black came back at $350

    • Would love that deal right now

    • +1

Everything I've seen over $200 looks about $50 more expensive that I could get elsewhere. Maybe something will pop up.

  • With all these AMEX deals going on, where do I sign up for an AMEX card that has these offers?
Which one is fee free or has the best sign up offer going?

    • Discovery card.

      • Thanks guys, will look into it. So these offers don't apply to bank issued AMEX, is that right? I recall there was a BMW AMEX aswell but now I can't seem to find any info on it on the BMW website.

        • Sometimes the offers just apply to Amex card but not the bank issued ones. Simply cancel the BMW card and get yourself the no annual fee Discovery card to earn the bonus QFF points and subsequent offers.

Apply and be approved by 31 August 2014 to earn up to 7,500 extra Qantas Points1 including:

          • 5,000 extra points when you spend $300 on purchases within the first 3 months of becoming a Card member2

          • 2,500 extra points2 after your first Card spend in Australia on selected Qantas products and services4

    • If you do a domestic flight to a neighboring state every year, one return saver fare - even if worth700- is complimentary every year on the the platnum edge. Each state flies to about three other states. Annual fee is 199 a year ( or signing up through professional assoc is 99 for me and 149 for new applicants). I have received every offer to date, except for the Optus and Telstra a while back. It gives 3 points a dollar at supermarkets and 2 at servos if you spend at those.

  • anyone please give a direct url to this offer? I was trying to register my anz amex card but after i entered the card no. it asked me to contact my bank. don't know what's wrong with it.

  • non of the offer for my David Jones Amex.

  • David Jones offer showed up on my DJ Amex card as well.

  • They don't sell all their brands online such as Mimco is that true? Was gonna buy something for the wife

  • any cashback electrical products from DJ worth buying?

  • +1

Anyone know if the Westpac card qualifies for the deal? Does not say in one transaction.

  • Do people just go nuts at applying credit cards and/or Amex cards just to accrue the Qantas FF points? Saw someone posted a comment that he accrued about 300k points by doing something similar.

  • Anyone know if there is any direct link website to register for this offer?

    Anything worth buying?

  • in case anyone were looking to buy a set of Lego Mindstorms EV3, with 20% off, the price is now $400. with the AMEX credit it would cost you $350. free delivery if using the DJ Amex with the $50 off $200 spend offer.

  • Does it have to be $200 in one single transaction ?

  • cba card work??

  • how about the philips air fryer? down to $249 from $350 making it $199 after AMEX Credit

    http://shop.davidjones.com.au/djs/ProductDisplay?catalogId=1…

  • anyone tried getting DJ Gift card ( $200) and recieved credit as offered?

    • The AMEX credit is for DJ's online only. Do they sell gift cards online?

        • Oh nice one.

Not sure about DJs specifically, but gift card purchases at other stores have received the AMEX rebate without problems. I do it where I can to get WISH cards and I've always received the AMEX rebate. There's been debate on OzB about whether or not AMEX is reported what the underlying purchase is but it's never been proven one way or the other.

          Good luck

  • Clarisonic - I have never seen it go on sale before!
