Spotted at Browns Plains, QLD on clearance for $34 with no mention of original price.

I don't really know anything about these things so unsure if a good deal or not, but seems to be cheaper than anything else I could find online.

  • I think they use to sell for $79 when they first came out.

Or Just buy a bag of potatoes for 99 cents

    • +11

1/ potatoes are $1.5 to $4/kg, so 99c is a bargain, please make a separate post for that
2/ this is the closest thing to potatoes that Kmart sell

These are not e-readers! They are just el-cheapo low-spec things being pushed as e-readers!

Its like the shop that had a big case of boots that were so ill-fitting you could barely walk in them.
So they sold them on eBay as "Riding Boots".

  • Great as a paperweight!

  • 7" Laser reader $38 delivered eBay not sure how they compare http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/7-Ebook-reader-Media-Mp3-Audio-Av…

  • It's been this price for like 3 or 4 months. bought one in April and working very well. Support MP3 and MP4, but don't count on the video playback.

    Multi-language support, include simple-chinese.

    • How do you rate it as a pure e-reader?

  • If you want one for reading only, I find TFT is awful for reading books, especially with a cheap display/device.

I bought the MiGear one a while back and, software issues aside, found it unpleasant enough to start looking for an e-ink reader. In my opinion you'd be be better off waiting for JB Hifi to do their usual Kobo mini sale.

However, if you want it for the other stuff - I have no opinion. :)

  • You can get entry level android tablets for a similar price now. These things are totally obsolete

    • If your intention is reading only then they are two different things. Tablets don't give the battery life that e-readers have and on the other hand e-readers are better for reading when you have to look at the screen for very long time.

      • How on earth is this any better for reading than a tablet? It probably has a worse screen if anything.

Battery life might be better, but if u turned WiFi off and were Just reading, most cheap tablets would do similar duration on a charge

    • Any good examples? Best I am finding is unnamed chinese models on ebay for ~$40-50

      • Exactly..

Unnammed ereader or unnamed tablet, you choose.

  • 64MB of RAM

    Really?

  • Price drop now $30
