      i dont get the big hype over chromecast? can you mirror a windows PC to it? or only cast what you see from android to android?

      i bought an ezcast dongle from aliexpress for like $30 delivered. It does everything Chromecast does + Miracast + a bunch of other wireless stuff incl DLNA

      I dont understand why people are clamouring over the chromecast everytime dicksmith has a sale

        You can cast any chrome tab to it, including from a PC (using a Chrome extension)

        I find it brilliant for watching Netflix or Hulu, and to a lesser extent Youtube. I have Apple TV and WDTV through the house, but now have Chromecast on every TV for the ease of use factor.
        To be able to search for what you want on your phone, and control playback etc, it's a dream.
        Apple TV is only used for NBA streaming, and WDTV is still the go to for network media, but for consuming online content, Chromecast is a winner.

        You can mirror your whole desktop in addition to just a Chrome tab, although the feature is "experimental" and you need a relatively powerful PC. This means you can also stream games to the TV (as long as it's played in windowed mode).

    Not worth it…. If they hadn't f****ed me over last weekend with ordering a computer I'd order a ps4 controller but no. Never using their online store again…
