  • Wow, that's almost half price… Are they the printable ones?

  • Not trying to toot my own horn, but the deal posted on http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/14930 would cost the same, but comes with individual jewel cases. It's available in all their stores too.

    • +2

Verbatim DVDs however are very well regarded.

      • Agree parta. Verbatim have been on top of the heap for some time now along with Taiyo Yuden discs. Both brands are good choices for reliability and longer term data storage. $15 for 50 Verbatims is indeed a bargain.

        • Yep … I've used Shintaro before and they aren't even close to the Verbatim discs.
I just sold all my jewel cases (I guess it's a way of getting back some money).
A 240 CD folder takes up a lot less room than 240 jewel cases.

Going to try Taiyo Yuden next, because it appears that Ritek are using cheaper discs which are already failing to read.

  • some computer shop is cheaper than $15.00

    • For Verbatim DVD-R? If so then please post a link. Would have ordered these immediately if Harvey Norman did mail order.

  • Verbatim is a good Deal. Ive been buying TDK and have found these for $9.95 + Postage

    • +12 bux post though… seems higher than it would to ship them, sounds like good ol ebay seller is making $$ from post again.

  • I bought some HNC DVD-Rs (white, inkjet printable) from Harvey Norman for $19, normally its 50 discs but they had a bonus 15 discs + Red Green & Black markers.

I also bought some mpm CD-Rs i spent a little extra on them because of the nice spindle they were on, turns out its a lie and the lid of the spindle (which has the handle) is not attached to anything (no protective side to the spindle), so stay away from MPM discs if you don't have an abundance of spindles.

I cant vouch for the quality of either HNC or MPM yet though.

  • Wow, very cheap, especially seeing as though I recently purchased a spindle of 100 x Verbatim DVD-R from MSY for $38, and then I found out that my local HN has been selling the 50 spindle for $17.

As above, Verbatim optical DVD media are very well regard in terms of data integrity and media longevity. They're not quite on the same level as Taiyo Yuden, but they are still a lot better than most of the other big-brand media out there.

    • In what way is TY better than Verbatim ?

  • Does anyone know if this applies to all HN stores ???

  • HN Bundall Gold Coast has the non-printable ones for $19 per 50.

  • not bad

  • I think HN Clearance @ Auburn sometimes selling this as well for $15 …

  • Harvey Norman @ Moore Park are selling them for $17 and there were quite a bit of stock left, but Harvey Norman @ Broadway were still selling them for the RRP - they wont even price match other HN, the best they could do was $30. So be aware, not all HN have them on clearance.

  • wow, better run over there then!
