i believe code should be 25SAVE

    • Thanks mate, I just change it… sorry about that..

  • so you can get 1st month free and then cancel for the 2nd month?
or do they charge you a month in advance?

do they only offer nano sims?

    • +1

No they do not charge upfront… yes I am going to cancel it before 2nd month
and free postage, so you will get your sim card free of charge for the first month

      and yes Nano sim

      • So what are you getting this for, are you using it with your regular number diverted to this?

        • 3GB Downloads, unlimited SMS and calls,, + 300 minutes international calls,, I might keep this plan even after first month… and with Vodafone sometimes you get extra discounts if you talk to customer service

        • @jason29: I'm tempted to give it a try.

  • Big noob question: Any downsides to Vodafone? I've been with Telstra for a number of years now, happy with their 4G network, just not happy with their newer plan charges.

    • -1

better saving than with Tel$tra ;)

    • +1

Apart from regional coverage, nothing better about Telstra at all. Have both at the moment and would go Vodafone any day.

      • agreed.
regional coverage and telstra always wins.
but in metro, and especially in data transfer speed in 4g areas, vodafone is better imo.
i got both, telstra provided by work and vodafone private.

they dropped the ball for a while there and became known as vodafail, but they'll definitely picked up their game last few years. lucky too… they were really struggling for a while there!

  • Good deal especially if traveling overseas. Just add the $5 day roaming pack and use your pack's credit and data overseas. Plus u are only charged $5 for each day u actually use it overseas.

  • A further 10% off (ongoing) for existing Vodafone customers

    • +1

What's the code for that? otherwise, how do you get this ongoing 10% off for existing vodafone customers?

      • Ring customer service. They can also apply the 25save code manually.

    • What' the point for further 10% off when it's $0 already??

      • +1

If you already have an existing vodafone service, when you sign up to another service, it gets 10% taken off the second service.

        e.g. 2nd service is $50/month, with 10% discount it will be $45/month, a savings of $5.

I've been using Vodafone for the last 5 years, no major issues (in SA anyway).

  • I'm off traveling for 3/4 weeks very soon - looks like a great way to get a low cost roaming sim - just the $5/day roaming fee (if used) and data/sms/calls come out of the included package if I'm understanding correctly..?
So 300 minutes international calls, from wherever I am in the world..and unlimited free texts, unlimited calls to Oz, & 3GB data.
Assuming I wouldn't use 300 mins to other countries than Oz, that means the bill will only be $5/day for each day I actually use the phone…Seems like a great (fantastic!) deal.

Provided I remember to cancel before the second month…

    • Only in these countries.

      Albania Hong Kong Poland
      Austria Hungary Portugal
      Belgium Iceland Romania
      Brazil Indonesia Scotland
      Bulgaria Ireland Serbia
      China Italy Singapore
      Croatia Japan Slovak Republic
      Cyprus Latvia Slovenia
      Czech Republic Lithuania Spain
      Denmark Luxembourg Sweden
      England Malta Switzerland
      Estonia Montenegro Thailand
      Finland Netherlands Turkey
      France Northern Ireland USA
      Germany Norway Wales
      Greece NZ

      • Only in the countries above. I've just been through this whole process as my wife is overseas at hte moment, and I can confirm that for $5 a day you can pretty much do what you like within the constraints of the Red plan you signed up for. A useful addition to this is Viber for totally free calls - regardless of where you are - to other Viber users, as long as you are connected to a wireless network.

  • If i purchase online now, can I activate it at a later date eg end of July?

Want to ensure I get the most out of my current amaysim month. Cheers

    • Vodafone advised you have 30 days from date of purchase to port your number across, however I could not find this in their terms and conditions though.

      • Minimum term starts when you activate, not when you buy. I bought one last night and will not activate for a couple of weeks yet.

        • +1

No it doesn't! I just received first 'bill' this morning, even though I haven't received the sim yet!! So effectively getting billed without even having the sim or a phone number yet…. Garbage!
Just phoned them up and they confirmed the billing cycle starts when you order it. I'll cancel it before I even get the sim!

        • @robs12:

Rather bizarre to lose a day of two on a 30 day plan.

  • Still no sim….
Phoned them to cancel. was told I can't cancel until it's activated.. Doh.
So I asked what happens if I just throw away the sim before activating…told "you'll just keep getting bills for $0 forever".
So much for making it simple…

    • So what are you saying, you get billed first (fair enough), but until you activate it, the 30 days won't start?

      • I was told the bill cycle starts when you order, not when you activate, so you lose some of the first month usage whilst you wait for the sim to arrive - still waiting here, so it'll be Monday at the earliest…having ordered on Sunday - I'll have lost more than a whole week of usage in the first month…

        • Kinda bizarre, esp if porting an existing number across.

  • Still waiting for this sim to be delivered - so now 9 days lost out of the first month….

    STINKS

    • Did you contact the Vodafone Twitter Team to see if they could offer anything?

SNEAKY….. Received a bill of $70+ today @@ Nothing FREE… Discount for a "FULL MONTH", which is the 2nd month
