Was looking for a small decent desktop for the office and this seemed like a good deal. Only through Dell official website or ebay until tomorrow; cannot find the same deal on the official website.

Dell Inspiron 3000 Small Desktop Core i3-4130 4GB RAM 500GB HD/CD/DVD $499 Incl Delivery
Windows 7 Pro. 2 USB 3.0 and 6 USB 2.0, bluetooth, wifi.
5.89kg, 10.5" x4" x 15", comes with a wired keyboard and mouse too.
Oiginal price said to be $699. Can also get the 1TB version for $599.

Just need to find a small monitor with it and I'm settled!

Added: The Dell website is confusing, but it's definitely $499 for the i3 on the Dell ebay site. Can't seem to paste the link using my tablet:(

  • $499 appears to be the Celeron model. i3 is $599, with $100 off at the moment.

Edit: This is why I hate Dell's site - apparently it's $150 off via the mobile site, but only the i3 again, making it $549..

Hate the site too!! But here's the link to the Dell ebay site. I3, $499.

      • Ahh sweet! You'd be able to talk to them online and get it for $499 as well then.

Ebay purchase has 2% rebate from Cashrewards, another $10 off.

very good value! great for mums dads grandparents…

    • And I'm hoping for basic office functions too? Haha

It will run office apps fine. On another note - if you haven't already bought Office 2013 yet (or have a copy from a previous OzB deal… lol) you can get Dell to bundle it in for pretty cheap, compared to local/retail prices anyway.

      • The only real upgrade worth doing to this machine if it's going to be used in an office environment is an SSD.

        • +2

i dont think ssd will matter to the avg. office exchange webapp drone

          @tonyjzx:

Ssd wont matter especially i dont turn the office computers off :D
Ssd is great for sleep/resume, but probably wont be a big deal with other office task.

  • So whats the gfx card inside? Intel® HD Integrated Graphics ? or Nvidia?

    • +1

Intel HD. At this price point you can't expect anything more, especially in a machine for businesses.

  • Is this it on their ebay site? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Inspiron-3000-Small-Desktop-…
I was thinking about getting it when the 20% off ebay deal was on.

    • Yeah it's that one. Expiring in 12hrs though. When will the 20% off deal be on?
They might up the price again after that to $699 (currently 29% off).
