VPN.sh - £1/Year Offer Returns

24

I have just received this email, quite cheap. I have been using their service for sometime now, not very high speed vpn, around 1.5mbps on avg I would get (love to know anyone else's experience), barely enough for standard definition streaming. However good for normal browsing and doing other stuff.

P:S Please read the reviews in comments below before buying.

    Stay away.

Like many other's i picked up their £5 for 500gb deal for the year when they were advertising the £1 VPN service last time, since then their servers for France and India have gone down for what was 2 weeks without any notice.

What is worse was, I opened a support ticket and reported it down on the 5th of June when i first noticed it, no reply till date. Even set the urgency to "HIGH" because in my application those 2 servers are business critical. (i.e. i only need use those servers, specifically india and thats why i signed up!)

I gave up on the service and tried connecting again after 2-2 1/2 weeks had past since I had noticed the issue and the server was back up and running, again no reply to my original support ticket which remains open till date.

I understand their cost is phenomenally low and it would be very hard to possibly reply to many support tickets (if they receive many), but a quick, 'we'll look into this' would have sufficed.

    Just my 2¢. (or £5?)

    Edit:

Just tried now, service is down currently as well, YAY!!

Just looked up the last post on VPN.SH, seems like I'm not the only one with no response from support tickets.

  • Hey OP, this neg is not against you but those guys. I purchased their offer last time, and I would not recommend. 95% of time it doesn't connect.

  • Looks like there's a potential fee-grab here:

"NOTICE: IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS FOUND TO CONTAIN
    ILLEGAL ACTIVITY,
    ILLEGAL MP3 FILES,
    PIRATED SOFTWARE,
    HACKER PROGRAMS,
    WAREZ PROGRAMS, OR
    ANY OTHER ILLEGAL FILES,

YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE TERMINATED IMMEDIATELY, WITHOUT NOTICE, AND

A £30.00 CANCELLATION FEE WILL APPLY.

ADDITIONALLY, VPN.SH WILL NOTIFY THE PROPER AUTHORITIES OF YOUR ACTIONS."

There's GOLD in them, thar ill's (Illegals, that is)

    • It might be fairer, eg, if users could claim a 30 pound Early Exiting fee, ie, if service changes adversely or has connection issues over 10% of the time… causing user to close their accounts before the end of first first year of service.

  • Avoid.
Bad service. No response if you need help.

  • At the very least, vendor needs to report actual number of times they've ever taken 30 additional pounds and/or reported their users to authorities, in past.

  • They did promise a hong kong server during the last offer. Still not there!
