  • Nice deal on the 40xAA alkaline pack.

  • +1

I think the delivery kind of kills it… $4.95

    • $9.95 to Perth. Definitely kills it…..

      • $4.95 to metro Perth..

      • It's $4.95 delivery for up to 1kg and $9.95 delivery for 1-10kg. I just ordered 5 packs of the 40 batteries AA alkaline for $43.55 delivered (delivery $9.95). So obviously the 5 packs were over 1kg in weight. I thought buying in bulk makes the delivery more worth while?. Now what am i going to do with 200 AA batteries :)

        • Actually, looks like despite the shipping table showing 0-1kg and 1-10kg, the $4.95 rate is actually up to 2kg. My shipping was listed as "Flat fee (under 2kg) $4.95" and according to the packaged weight listed on the site, my items came to just under 1.9kg.

        • @bamzero:

That's strange because the delivery information page clearly states 0-1kg as $4.95 and 1-10kg as $9.95. I don't know how you got $4.95 for 1.9kg that goes against what their own delivery information page says.

          https://www.dicksmith.com.au/shopping-with-us/delivery-infor…

Actually mine says Standard - Flat Fee - Medium (2-10kgs) for 5 x AA 40 pack and charged $9.95 delivery. According to the packaged weight comes to just under 4.8kg.

Their delivery information page makes no sense contradicts what the order status says. Delivery information page says 1-10kg but order status says 2-10kg.

  • And the D size LSD are half-price compared to last week.

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/batteries/ds-lsd-rechargeable-ni…

    • yep, was updating the deal as you posted!

  • I would advise againt the orange DS batteries. They aren't Low Self Discharge so will discharge very quickly without use.

But, the DS LSD batteries are supprisingly good quality.

  • AAA Rechargeable "Temporarily Out of Stock"

  • Yeah don't seem very cheap for non LSD? And only 2000mah.

hmm… Choice between Dick Smith D Alkaline 2pk $1.66 and GP Ultra D Alkaline 2pk $0.95. Input anyone?

edit: DSE brand out of stock

    • good price for GP D cells. I'll add that to the deal, good find.

  • +1

They've also got the Eneloop AAAs for $12.45. Not a bad price, but seen better:

  • dam I want some D Cells but it wont post them and wont give me pickup :/

    • have a go in store. some, but not all, have reported success getting them to match.

  • +1

careful everyone! DSE have just changed their free delivery qualification to$499

    • +1

that's lots of batteries for free delivery

    • Yes it seems that is the case. A bit sneaky. Wonder what made them change their mind about the free delivery on $99 orders, making too much of a loss?.

I suppose we won't be any more seeing cheaper items on sale offering free delivery.

  • Wonder what the expiry date is on these alkalines..

Anyway, the 6x and 8x AA's are out of stock.

    • +1

I just checked some Dick Smith AA and AAA batteries that i got from the previous sale and neither the packaging or the batteries themselves have an expiry date listed that i can find.

  • My order of 5 x AA alkaline 40pk has already been shipped. That was quick.

  • Rechargeable out of stock, plus they are not LSD? And the $4.95 shipping kills it.

  • Well, my order has shipped, in two parcels it seems. Except one is invoiced and shipped as 1x instead of the 3x I ordered and paid for (and still showing in stock)… have emailed them back to see what they have to say..

Just a heads up to check your shipping info/invoices.

    • hmm… there is something kooky going on. I ordered 6x and invoice shows 1x. Has DSE replied to you yet?

      • I didn't get a reply to my question, but just then got another invoice and tracking info for the other missing 2x.

        • You'll find your first shipment of 1x was shipped from one store and the other 2x that was missing would be coming from another store. The particular item must be short in stock.

      • No problems here. I ordered 5x and invoice shows 5x shipped.

  • not as good as before lsd 4 x 2200 mah were $1.85 i got 11 packs thanks dickie.

    • Yeah and now they're $23.98 each packet on Dick Smith ebay.

      • wow i got $263 worth for $20 not bad lol

        • Yes well Dick Smith batteries are normally over priced.

  • $0.48 ea 2xD GP Brand $0.95 is sold out. Good thing i bought 6 of those packs yesterday for my torch. Any higher than the 6 battery packs then they wanted to charge $9.95 shipping instead of $4.95.

    • Page is 404 as well, so guess not coming back. Having said that, it seems all others listed are now showing in stock, even those that were out of stock yesterday.

      • Nope could be sold out for good. Unless the GP Ultra D size turns up on their ebay store.

        • I think they've done a general tidy up today. posting the deal was painful as there was heaps of listings with great prices, only for the product pages to be 404s.

        • @ChickenTalon:

The GP Ultra D 2pk batteries have made their way back on the Dick Smith web site in stock but at $6.98 when they were $0.95 during the sale. Pass. But curious how they suddenly re-appear back on the site in stock at full price just after the sale ends. I think dickie took it off the site deliberately. Maybe they figured they were selling too cheap.

  • I bought 6 packets of the D size and get this, they sent me 5 packets from a local shop and 1 is being sent from the other side the country :o

    • My 6 D size packets are being sent from a shop around 300km away. 2 packets of AAA batteries are being sent from a local shop. Both the D size and AAA batteries are in the same order.

    • Yep, one 3rd of my order arrived today from a local store.
As for the rest, they are coming from Bendigo, except 2x in one parcel, 1x in another..
Doesn't seem like a very cost efficient way to do things. Good to see DSE are making use of the tracking info available though. Got a txt in the morning saying was onboard for delivery, and another after it was delivered.

  • lol at the 8 x AAA alkaline $1.30 during the sale now $14.98 per packet. My two packets worth would now cost me $29.96 but i got them both for $2.60. Same goes for my six packets of GP Ultra D size 2pk $0.95 per packet during the sale but now $6.98 per packet. Paid $5.70 for the six packets but now will cost $41.88. How crazy is that.

  • All the prices have been jacked up. Now free delivery.

Thanks for being a dick Dick.

    • Oh well, if you need AA/AAA's looks like it's back to the old go to, Varta AA 30 pack or AAA 24 pack for $8.98 at Bunnings..
