      Yep, I just realised I got charged $1 to my PayPal every time I pressed Request for Ice Cream even though it says No Ice Cream Available. So I deleted my PayPal and put in my Credit Card number now. But I'm not pressing the Request button any more either until I can see that there is a driver available. I think they will refund the pre-authorisation money back and if they don't, just like others have said, just dispute it.

    I got my icecream + a beanie!

    When your order is processed, it shows you a picture of the driver/delivery person and says how long until they can meet you.

    Then they call you up to confirm where you are located and ask where you want me meet. When i got called up it was 5 seconds after the order was approved and they arrived within 60 seconds.

    So i think the orders are only going through when a driver is located nearby when you are requesting?

    Its uni students handing them out, not normal Uber people so dont yell at them for the Uber issues.

    The 500g looks quite small, but maybe its heavier than normal icecream….

        when my driver was supposed to be downstairs another driver arrived. they activated their app and i got beanies and icecream from them

      Only 30? I have 50 pending transactions on PayPal (then I changed to my CC which isn't doing a $1 pre-auth for every attempt). I'm at well over 100 now (despite seeing them like 4-5 minutes on the map).

        I have a receipt (on the app) of $15. I presume that's just taken out of the $20 sign up credit (that came with coupon "ICECREAMSYD")?

    I have driver confirmed and enroute with the deliver's details…called- no answer and text- no reply as yet.. She must be busy. Lets just hope i don't get charged all those $1 transactions from paypal!

    Edit, got my icecream after 2 minutes of confirming. Girl was nice and gave me beanie and sunnies

    Got mine delivered! Surry Hills, Sydney CBD. We're just around the corner from Messina though.

    Keep trying guys because they're doing it until 5pm and it took me about 20 requests till I got through.

    Ice cream is not worth this, uninstalled app. There's no option to delete the uber account so I replaced phone, email and name with pizza hut's details.

    This sucks big time. So, you only have a small chance of getting any icecream if you live down the road from Messina. "We're sorry Icecream is not available right now" well, not good enough, I was told it would be available, from 11-5pm. Stay away from app promos, must get this thing off my PayPal pronto!

    Wow I got mine at 11:15 but the guy sitting next to me at work has been trying for 4 hours with no luck. In fact they just billed him $30! $20 and then a $10 cancellation fee! System is totally stuffed.

    Alright so after waiting over 2 hours for the SMS I decided to submit a support ticket at t.uber.com/support. I sent another ticket an hour later with just the subject "Still haven't received confirm SMS 04XXXXXX". Shortly after that I got a email response from a tech who said he just verified my phone manually. Sweet - logged in the app, requested ice cream and boom - "not available right now, check later". FFFFFFFFF. Gonna keep pushing request until something happens! :)

    Edit: just read the tweet about Melbourne being out-of-stock. AAGGH!!!
