2 cartridges ink cost $17.99 on ebay, last for 210 pages (black) and 160 pages (color).
    quite cheap

    • They are refurbished ink cartridges

      • Does that matter?

        • +1

Refurbished is different to New. So let people make their own decisions. If I was told a price for something I would expect brand new unless told otherwise. So when comparing prices I prefer like for like ie the printer is new and comes with new ink.

  • I don't need it but I want to buy it. What is wrong with me?

    • nothing! welcome to OA(Ozbargain Anonymous)!

  • you will be lucky to get 10 pages out of the "stock" ink.

    • Starter cartridge ink are always low. It's only meant to get the printer started that's why you need to buy full capacity ink cartridges as well.

    • I buy printers and not ink anymore. They are full packs and usually not starter kits. Haven't seen a start kit with these cheap-o printers for a long time. And because we don't print a lot this way we don't get clogged printers as everything is new and comes with warranty. Just the way we do it now.

      • I have never heard of any HP printers that come with full capacity ink cartridges in the package. They're always starter cartridges. Any way it's kind of silly to replace the printer every time you need new ink. I mean i just bought a complete set of 4 high capacity ink compatible cartridges for my HP Photosmart 5520 printer off ebay for $12.90 delivered. Cheaper that than buying a new printer.

        • Looking at it now.
Comes with 61 black and color ink.
They are regular not the XL packs.
I can confirm as look at the box right now.

wow those original ink packs you got were very cheap.

We go through 2 printers per yr.

          @nonpop:

Yeah well i can get a set of 4 XL compatible cartidges for my HP printer for under $13 delivered. And these are black, cyan, magenta and yellow. No need to keep replacing printers when you can get ink that cheap. The rubbish tip and environment will thank you.

        • @hollykryten:
Have you had any problems with the ink? clogged print heads etc.

edit: saw your printer details above

where does one go on ebay to buy ink cartridges? Also recommendations for new desktop computer under $1100 can be Tower only, All in one 23inch screen or package deal

        • @mjacd:

Not really. Am using compatible cartridges right now and going fine.

        • @hollykryten:

That's the difference. Compatible / refurbished / other vs genuine new.
I'm not saying one is better than the other. But it is important the the facts are disclosed which allows people to make informed decisions. Some people will only want genuine product and others are fine with other.

When people say … hey I bought this cheaper etc … but they fail to disclose the exact product they purchased, then it isn't an apples for apples comparison. Compatible vs genuine are two different products.

The regular price is between $29 to $39 but is has been as low as $19 at both HN & OW before.

  • how low this printer is..
i got epson only printer not combined with scanner on this price,,,shit

  • i still have the HP PSC 1300 which give to me 5yrs ago, yes it still going strong.
    If

Produce home documents, photos and flyers without fuss and without fail = true.

    then this = Adeal.

  • wireless????

  • This printer was $19 at HP about a month ago,I bought one, kicking myself i didnt buy a few more.

  • In February, I considered buying a HP 1510, but as I wanted a wifi printer, I choose the HP 2540 from TGG for $66 shipped. I am very happy with it. On board cartridges seem generous enough [HP 61 Black Ink ~190 pages, HP 61 Tri-color Ink ~165 pages]. At present, there is a clearance sale at Centrecom with the HP 2540 priced $32 - can be collected, or else @ $9 shipping to most addresses. I consider it a better deal than the HP 1510.

Perhaps, someone would like to have a look at the Centrecom stock clearance sale & create a separate post - seems to be good prices for many different types of items [limited numbers for some, though].

Officeworks have this for $39, so it would be a deal only if you could pick it up.

      • +1

Actually, I meant to say 'value' rather 'deal' as the HP 2540 is a better printer. Not all ozbargainers live in metro areas* & depend on having goods delivered. If one needed to have this item delivered from OW, the min. delivery charge, even for metro areas, is $5.95 → total $44.95
