    Targeted audience.

Either your a member and you have the credit.
Or you are not a member and you will not get this credit.

    • +4

Even if you are already a member you may not get it.

    • You have to play hard to get. I.e. Purchase big once (say $100 worth) and forget about them for a few months, they will want you to come back to the store to spend like you did previously, which is unlikely to happen..

      • Purchase big once (say $100 worth) and forget about them for a few months, they will want you to come back to the store to spend like you did previously

I guess I could do that - I only really shop with them when they have their 20% off sales lol

Can I sign up now and get the credit?

    • It will cost you $5 to find out.

      • When I signed up a few weeks ago, I paid $5 joining fee and they give me $10 credit (which I have already spent it). Now they are giving another $5 credit? I can't really complain.

        • I think I made more outa these guys from the inital purchase of the clubcard! lol

        • when i signed up i got $5 credit added to my $5 signup fee.
I got a $10 credit deal last time but now I go to check and I have only $5 credit to my name due to this new deal

if this was a bank they would be the worst evar!

    • Can I sign up now and get the credit?

I doubt it, the credit was applied earlier today for all members.

      • Not credited for all existing members JV.

SuperCheap are insulting our intelligence with their 5 dollar credits and their inflated, artificial sales. I'm over them.

    • -3

I agree, $5 is just not enough these days.

      • Lol, just go and stack the families discount.

      • +6

Free $5 is Free $5 regardless

    • Purchased 5 sockets i needed for $5, minus the credit.=
      Free!!
Checked repco first as i had 25% off for VIP in july.. Same store brand quality $8.90-$17.20 per socket… Free is better.

    • I dont believe so….

    • +1

      Definitely not targeted.

I don't have the e-mail, but I do have the credit in my SCA account.

      EXPIRES 27/7

      • +2

It is targeted if only some get it.

        • Nothing in my account. It looks like a targeted offer to me!

  • +1

Does the credit show up under "My Loyalty Credit"? Mine is showing nothing… 8-(

  • +4

Why are people complaining about free $5 credit? There's no strings attached, go buy whatever you want.

  • i got no credit never do maybe i forgot to opt in to marketing options?

    • Yep me too, just subscribed and will see

  • +2

Sorry, No credit for me :-(

    • have you been a good boy tho???..

  • It was free for me to join with $10 credit to spend, then $10 credit again a few times, now it is $5 credit… win Win Win for me.

  • So what to buy??? Any good deal atm???

I know with $5 you can't get really good stuff, if there are any great offers right now then with this $5 discount would make it even sweeter!

    • wait for the members-only offers they normally send out before every weekend and you might find something there.

    • They say a bottle of WD-40 a day keeps the doctors away.

Make sure you go in, grab it (150g - $4.99) and go straight out. Do not look at other things.

      • Thanks, that's what im gonna do tmr! Or something = or < $5 bucks!!

Then the checkout chick will probably think, WTF, you come here just to use the fking credit??? Then i go, "YES babe!" LOLLL

Nothing in my account either :(

  • Now time to find something for $5 :).

    WD40
    battery hydrometer

    anything else worth mentioning?

    • +2

Toolpro 8mm combination spanner! Exactly 5 bucks, my stanley kit didnt come with one so brake bleeding was a PITA

Or a small cheapo spanner kit
      Or fuses

Its a good practice to keep a wishlist of low price items that you want on SCA, for moments like this

  • +4

Zero in my account… must only be for some and not all…

  • +1

checked both my accounts again and still nothing lol

I think this plan of supercheap works lol

    • I think this plan of supercheap works lol

      well i'll be damned…

  • Problem with this $5…every single one of my visits have been at least $40-50 LOL.

    • +2

Thats the whole idea. Throw out a $5 bait and catch a $50 fish :) It's actually a very effective marketing technique.

    • What do you think? You think they are bunch of charitable dudes that like to give out $5 for nothing? It's called 'Marketing Plan'.

    • +1

What do you buy so much in SCA? I only visit when they have the 10w-40 castrol for 20 bucks..

  • +1

    I didn't get it :(

I wonder how they selected who to give the $5 to? Newer members perhaps? I've been a member since the start of that loyalty program.

    • +1

I havent gotten it either. I believe its targeted.

    • I am a recent sign-up (last month or so) and don't have the $5 either. Anyone who signed up and not yet purchased anything get the $5? I purchased a car battery when I signed up (at the same time) but that purchase isn't on my account either despite the sales staff telling me it would be there. Wondering if you had to have made a prior purchase or have purchases listed in your order history to get the credit?

    • I didnt get it either, I've been a member for almost a year.

    • Same here. I didn't receive any credits. Have been a member for over a year too.

      • +1

They know what you did last summer

    • I've been a member since the start of that loyalty program.

      ditto…when it was free \o/

  • altho…. it might take a while to be credited to your account…

if its not in your account… and your a supercheap club member….. I'd suggest to call them…. and ask where ur $5 is…

    1300 175 010

    • +1

You call and they make you hold for 5 minutes, thats where your $5 is ;)

      • If that's what really happens, i am extremely happy to wait as long as my handset's battery not dead!!!

  • Thanks , brought a pick up tool (claw spring ) for 1.00 with the credit .

    • How is that possible, the credit is only valid from 26-27/7/2014???

      • Probably giga confused it with a credit on 'price difference', when you buy something and it goes on sales in 2 weeks after you bought it, SCA credit you that difference.

I actually like SCA for doing this. I think its a lot of work for their IT department to keep it from messing up.

        • True that, the credit backs would eat away at SCA profit margins. I really don't know how it can be feasible in the long term.
