Dammit .. paid $25 for half the amount from DSE the other day :|

(Edit: actually I notice these aren't the white ones I bought - i do not know if they have a different rating or not though).

    Cheers for the deal friend.

    • Thee only difference between these and the white ones you bought would be the colour on the batteries.

    • +6

and you call your self an ozbargainer…. pfff

  • thanks does anyone know if they still have the standard chard for these can't seem to find them

  • +1

By the way this Eneloop UOMO battery pack deal is also available from Dick Smith on eBay for the same $19.98 plus $4.95 shipping. So there you go another source for these batteries in case it sells out on the main web site.

Whats with the postage charge? We used to get these shipped for free in my day.

  • +3

What's the diff between the UOMO and the Glitter ?

    • +7

Glitter are second generation and UOMO are third generation. Third generation has a further reduced self-discharge rate (80% charge instead of 75% charge after 3 years) and improved number of recharge cycles (1800 up from 1500).

  • +1

was hoping to buy everything from dse website and use $10 coupon thanks though

  • What's so good about the eneloops? This is a serious question as I'm looking for some rechargeables to replace some cheapy unreliable ones I have. The eneloops seem to come up here quite regularly.

    • +4

Very low self-discharge rates which makes them good for applications where the battery may sit there for a long time before being used. Their capacity also remains high for a large number of recharge cycles.

      • Are there any applications where they wouldn't be suitable for? I'm thinking of using them in keyboards/remotes.

        • +1

NiMH batteries run at 1.2V instead of Alkaline's or Lithium's 1.5V. So things like some torches (which some of them are made to run at 1.5v) won't be as bright if you run them on eneloops.

Thanks madska, just bought three packs and used $10off coupon 10SAVER

    • +1

Same. I won't have to buy batteries for a while now.* :D

*until the next time Enerloops go on sale again.

    • Mesg: Coupon code "10SAVER" is not valid.

      • tiara said they bought 3 packs, not 1, so it is valid (ie. over $49). Try it yourself.

    • +1

Nice! thanks for reminding about the $10 off coupon for orders over $50.
Just got 3 packs for $54.89 (inc delivery) which works out to be ~$18.30 a pack :)

      • yep, that is the best way to do it. did the same, thanx for tip. $54.89 delivered for 3 x 8 packs of AA…… these will be well appreciated & cared for :-)

    • Just tried this for 3 packs and got this message.

"Sorry, we are unable to validate your Promotional Voucher. Please confirm you have entered the correct voucher code, and check for any exclusions before calling our Customer Service team on 1300 366 644"

      Tried another browser and get:
"Coupon code "10SAVER" is not valid."

Guess they don't want me to use it.

      • +1

my only guess is its limited to first 500 customers, so i must have been customer 499 and u must have been 501… sorry :-\

      Do you want a medal?

      What a legend….

    • Interesting … higher capacity than Eneloops I bought as well (though I cant see a minimum anywhere) - anyone used these before?

Edit: Actually it does say 2400mAh guarenteed

      • +1

Turnigy is quite good. Just bought 24 extra AA & AAA from them last week. I used to buy Eneloop every now and then but not any more.

        • +1

Shipping really kills the turnigy deals these days.
The batteries themselves can drop down to 70% of charge which is the equivalent to the first generation eneloop.
You can just run to ALDI and get some new generation rechargeable batteries that are equivalent to the first generation eneloop at 4 for $6.99.
No shipping weights to calculate and definitely no lengthy waiting times.

        • @josephchi:

Can you recharge the ALDI batteries with the standard eneloop charger MQN04

      • 2550mAh available from Int Warehouse in 4 pack

        http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__55554__Turnigy_AA…

  • Still got 2 unopened Tropicals… lol dont think I'll buy more AA batteries for a while.

  • +2

I still have a couple of litres of milk in the fridge.
I won't need to go to Aldi tomorrow.

    • Glad you got my point…. :p

  • I trust these and had been using the white ones for the last i year. Ordered some as i was waiting for some deal. Cheers.

How do you check out as a guest on pc I want to do multiple orders

  • nice deal and I got to use the $10 gift card from when they charged shipping on the recent 20% off ebay sale, all without leaving home

    • Can you explain this $10 off thing? I purchased from them during the 20% off sale too

      • +1

During the sale I was charged freight and they gave a $10 gift card, which effectively refunded the freight and a $5 inconvenience fee.

It was delivered by email with a link.

        • Strange, I was also charged freight during the sale, but no voucher. I only purchased an xbox one controller, so maybe that's why.

        • this is what I received in the email from DSE ebay after my purchase;

          Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for participating in our recent eBay promotion - "20% off sitewide & free delivery". Unfortunately due to a technical difficulty free shipping was not applied at the time of your order. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience and undue concern that this has caused.

We would like to offer this back to you in the form of a Dick Smith Digital Gift Card that may be used within any of our stores or via www.dicksmith.com.au. As a gesture of good will your gift card will be issued at double the amount you were charged for shipping.

    • How did you manage to use your $10 gift card? I have mine but it wont accept it and the terms and conditions say not valid for online purchases. Which code do I put in?

      • When I got to the payment page for the checkout process there was a box for promotion code and another for gift card. I think I used my DSE account and not guest…… Can check on this tomorrow if required.

  • Will a standard nimh charger work with these?

  • +2

I'm looking for AAA eneloops. please let me know when there's a deal :)

Do I need to buy a charger separately?

    • I just ordered some up off Ebay $15 for 4 but I didn't do a look around.

Any NiMH charger will work. You may get a better charge from higher quality charger, I'm not sure.

      • You're correct in that any NiMH charger will work for charging these batteries. However, the quality of the charger will help determine the longevity of these rechargeables. Different chargers use different charging techniques, and some of these aren't exactly very friendly to eneloops. May end up killing them prematurely.

I'm no charging expert, but these ones seem to come highly recommended by other users of eneloops.

        http://ru.nkon.nl/memorex-pro1-geniux-charger.html

    • And I notice that of course you didn't provide any bargain to show that you aren't just talking out of your proverbial.

  • My order goes through then gets cancelled after an hour, has anyone had a similar situation? This has happened on every eneloop deal I have tried (3 and counting). I have called customer service and they keep telling me I haven't typed in my details properly, which is nonsense. I have tried quite a few cards, debit and credit….

    • Move on from dick & get the Aldi LSD's, $6.99 for a 4 pack.

      • Sadly no Aldi in Perth, yet

        • PM me and I will post you a pack or try the Hobbyking one's from the post above. They get mostly positive comments on Ozbargain.

        • @luke73: Thanks for the offer luke73, I will have a look at Hobbyking. Cheers

    • Sounds unusual. Perhaps try setting up a new account? I've never had any trouble ordering through them. Get them to put it through manually over the phone.

  • Anybody in Melbourne want to buy 16 AA tropicals or a charger with 4 standard AA's? All brand new and sealed.

  • Just bought 1 pack from in the Disk Smith store, $19.99, QLD

    • which shop?

  • only 50 positives for an eneloop deal, something isn't right

  • +4

Chatswood Chase DSE has these in a bin near the counter for $19.98. for those nearby that should help save you the $5 postage fee.

    • -1

can u apply the $10 discount code, when in-store?

  • -1

Did anyone have their quantiy changed by dick smith. We were not even getting many and they changed it to one pack.

  • Ugh, damn it. Every time these pop up I plan on buying them, then procrastinate over buying a charger and then miss out in the end.

    • You might have to wait a few weeks and most likely they will be on sale again.

  • Anyone else received ROUGE instead of Uomo?
    Are they the same?
