You get $50 with trade in which brings it down to $189.

  • +1

Can't see where the promotion is mentioned - shows $239

  • +3

do dead batteries work for this? wouldn't mind the ozito two pack

    • +1

      They dont check.

    • +1

      I believe so, t&c's don't specify but I assume it's like Samsung's recycle program.

    • They won't check so I guess so

  • +2

Has anyone traded in ryobi knock off's from ebay from previous promotions? Wonder if they'll accept it.

    • +1

Could probably get away with reps but not straight up clear fakes

    • Its listed in the terms and conditions that they wont be accepted, but I got that from the ryobi page.

    • +2

The terms and conditions only state 'an 18V battery'. If taken literally you could bring any battery charged to 18V and show them on a multimeter.

      • +2

        Yeah I just read -

        1. The Redemption Offer excludes any battery that is not an 18v battery, any replicas of
the Qualifying Product/s or toy batteries.
        • +1

What I said doesn't breach that. It's not trying to be a replica, is not a toy, but is an 18V battery

      • Yeah you are correct, I just had more time to read over it more slowly. I must have conflated two lots of info.

Since I have old ozitos, I'd trade them towards the Ryobi HP batteries for my wipper snipper and blower.

    • +2

Nice, have a few 1990's NiCD batteries that can be swapped over.

      • ARLEC

        • Nah, classic Makita.
The tools can get adaptors thank you; there's no need to re-do the NiCD experience…

  • +2

Still got an old XU1 battery I bought a while back to harvest cells but I'm kinda past that now lol.

Two Ozito 5.2Ah 21700s for $130 sounds pretty good but then I only got one tool, which I rarely use, that would really benefit over a typical 4Ah 🤔

      • Ozito 2 packs are cheaper than the ryobis which this deal applies to as well.

    • +1

The Ozito 5.2AH use 20650 cells.

      • The only particularly Ozito power hungry tool I have is the recip saw.

My other saws where it would benefit most are Workzone and Ryobi branded.
Pity I never jumped on that 2x18V sliding mitre saw deal back in the day, all in hindsight of course. $299 for the saw alone nowadays is way too much.

    • They wont do anything non riobi or ozito, or atleast my local refused an aldi one on that term

      • Looking at the Bunnings link in a comment below looks like you should make the trip back, if you're bothered …

From Monday. 1 September – Sunday, 19 October, trade-in any 18V lithium power tool battery in-store and receive $50 off one of the following battery twin packs from Ozito or Ryobi

  • https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-5-2ah-battery-twin… - the Ozito link if you're looking for it

    • is $50 off available on these as well?

  • +1

Can I do it with multiple or does it only work with 1x battery pack?
Ie if I got 3x would I get $150 off?

    • TL;DR - No, One discount per purchase

      1. Only one trade In Offer can be redeemed per one (1)18v battery that is traded in along
with the purchase of one (1) Qualifying Product. For example, an Eligible Claimant
cannot redeem more than one $50 discount for the purchase of one (1) Qualifying
Product. But an Eligible Claimant can redeem a $100 discount (but no more) for the
purchase of two (2) Qualifying Products if two (2) 18v batteries have been traded in.
      • But an Eligible Claimant can redeem a $100 discount (but no more) for the purchase of two (2) Qualifying Products if two (2) 18v batteries have been traded in.

Sounds to me like you can do it twice in one transaction, not just one.

        • +3

Correct but that would be for the purchase of 2 sets of batteries (4 total) . They will not allow a trade in of 2 old batteries to the value of $100 for the purchase of 1 set of batteries

  • +1

Does it work on this as well? Ryobi 18V ONE+ High Performance 8.0Ah Battery RB188080X - Twin Pack
And can we trade Ozito for Ryobi?

    • Terms and conditions linked in OP say it's only available for the ozito or ryobi 5AH.

  • So I can bring in a 2.0AH Ryobi battery and get the $50 off?

    • +4

Yup so long as it's 18V which it is

  • Had anyone tried with after market batteries?

Nm, just read above that replicas are not accepted.

  • +2

Seems like an easy way to trade in a 2ah for 2x 5ah. (mines about 5 years old).

    • +1

Pretty sure that's the whole point. You still have to pay $189 though. You're only getting a $50 discount.

  • i purchased a 6mAh knockoff from aliexpress for less than 30 bucks delivered and it has been working well. (just dont charge it indoors,,,lol)

  • Would anyone know why Ryobi replaced the 6ah HP batteries with these 5ah HP ones? Like the ones from this deal.

  • Dang it! I bought the twin-pack 5.0AH 18v a little too early… I have been waiting for this $50 Off for a while now. Trade tools such as Makita, Bosch and DeWalt has this offer and tried Ryobi at Bunnings but they were clear that Ryobi was not included. Missed the return window already.

  • How do these Ryobi 5.0ah batteries compare to the Ozito 5.2ah in terms of performance if you were to use an adapter on the Ozito batteries?

  • +3

Took advantage of this offer this morning. Took an 11 year old 5ah battery that has been dead for years and paid $189 for 2 x 5ah Ryobi batteries. Person at the tool counter had no idea about the offer but it was accepted no problems.

Any 18v Ryobi battery is accepted, doesnt need to be 5ah

  • Ahh torn now. I could get the 3x4.0ah pack which with my current 3 4.0ah would let me do three full mows on my 36v mower.

Or I get the 2x5.2ah packs and get the extra oomph for things like my circ saw and vacuum?

    • Your lawnmower should also be beneficial from the 5.2Ah battery

  • can i use the $50 to bring down any ryobi battery set? Just bought the 2x 4ah batteries the other day, would have done it for the 2x 5ah, now got too many batteries.

  • Wonder if they will take DeWalt 18/54v Flexvolt…. Got a few dead ones.

  • Just redeemed it now at Bunnings Wangara in WA.
Used a ryobi battery from 2013.

They didn't know about it so had to call up and confirm but no issues really

    • Bunbury didnt know about it either, but they looked it up on the website

  • Can i tape 2 9v Duracell's together for trade in?

  • +5

Edwardstown Bunnings in SA had no idea but were happy once they had googled it. They asked me just to put my battery in the recycling on the way out and didn't test it.

Obviously I kept the old 2.5ah battery instead of binning just in case I need it for another deal.

    • They just did the same thing. Didn't know anything about the promo and said 'Just chuck the battery on your way out'. I kept it as well lol

  • Bunnings Gawler in SA hadn't heard of the offer.
Sent me to multiple people once I showed them the deal on Ryobi's website.
They finally agreed to give me the $50 credit for each of my 1.4Ah batteries manufactured in 2012.
I knew there was a reason I held on to them :p

  • The last offer included twin battery packs from DeWalt, AEG, and Makita. Not just Ryobi and Ozito. Shame, I'm after some other battery packs.

    https://trade.bunnings.com.au/campaign/battery-offer

  • Perfect timing OP. Thanks
Traded in my old 2014 2AH battery for the deal

  • Similar experience to others. My local Bunnings had no idea about this promotion. The gave me the credit after I showed them the promotion on their Redemption Offers page https://www.bunnings.com.au/campaign/redemption-offers

  • +1
