Facial Sauna Steamer and Mani/Pedi Set $14+$5 (p/h). The Good Guys

120

Want to steam your face or hair but don't have access to a sauna or don't want to pay an arm and a leg?

This Conair set comes with a steamer (power plug) and manicure tool (battery powered) so you can give yourself a cheap DIY treatment while watching tv. I just bought one, I'm sure your girlfriend will appreciate one. Heck, I'll be stoked if my imaginary bf got me one. Just don't blame me if your gf gets offended, though this isn't as bad as buying a weighing scale.

RRP: $39.95 as shown on Conair website. Now $19 (with delivery). One year warranty. Pick up available in Dubbo, though there are none in inner Sydney stores.

Next cheapest facial steamer (without mani/pedi set) I can find from big retailers are $40 (excl delivery) from Myer and Good Guys

  • Or just stick your head over a boiling kettle for free?

    • That would burn your face, unless your kettle has temperature control settings?
Im guessing this doesnt actually boil the water, but warms it enough to let water evaporate into warm steam.

On the other hand, putting a warm town over the face probably gives similar results at a cheaper price.

I've tried putting my face over a boiling kettle, nearly scalded my face. A rice cooker is a better alternative as the heat isn't too high. But this device is relatively cheap and easy to use in my room so I know I'll love it. Too lazy to steam a towel but good suggestion!

        • Water boils at 100 degrees, the steam coming from the kettle would be fairly close to that! Im not sure what you mean by steaming a towel, but I just put the towel under hot water from the tap, obviously not too hot that would burn my face/hand.

It's going to be hard to steam your face "while watching tv." ;)

    • goggles with antifog coating may be required

Lol true, I didn't realise you were suppose to put your entire face in that mask shape until I saw a Youtube video.

  • Good gift idea. Thanks!
