      • $5 poorer a month

        • last time they wave the fee if you make a deposit of $2000 each month, no need to leave the money in there. Not sure if it has changed tho.

    • So I assume an account can be opened online by people living in VIC/TAS/SA/WA/QLD and they still going to be eligible for $100 bonus.
      Am I right ?

That is correct. I am in QLD and opened my account online.

A day later I received an email telling me to go to an ANZ branch to do an ID check and setup Internet Banking. The email clearly said that I am eligible for the $$ provided I meet the other T&C's

Based on past experience with similar promotions by 'the bank that can' (rip you off the most I presume ;) ), this promotion can end at any time and before the official end date.

Therefore, if you are not an existing ANZ customer with Access Advantage, better hurry up and apply ASAP!

Just don't forget to close the account as soon as you have been paid. It has account keeping fees and is a very ordinary account in general.

Bonus Hack: open separate accounts for you and your partner (provided you are both eligible) so you can get paid the $100 twice :)

  • People who are having issues with the link, try hit the AU version of the home page:
    https://www.anz.com.au/personal/

The banner on that page should mention the deal.

  • Does the $100 have to be included when doing tax returns? If so that means even ebay, or doing market research is also part of income and must be including when doing return???

    • Of course. Just because its not prefilled doesn't mean you don't have to pay tax on it. In reality though the ATO have bigger fish to fry.

      • It depends on how ANZ decides to categorise the $100 bonus as. If they are categorised as interest, then it would be prefilled. If not, then it is not interest, then I guess in a way it is not "an income" but rather a bonus of some sort.

For eBay and market research, if you are doing it as a hobby then it is not an income. If you do it for the purpose of making money, then it would be an income.

    FYI:

Approved my account to get the $100 status (with a QLD address)… so its nationwide not just NSW&ACT

    • yeah the mods changed it to [NSW & ACT] not sure if i can change it back.

  • If I open account then close it, are there any closing account fees?

    • none at all.. but if you haven't deposited $2000 in the month that you close it you will be charged a $5 fee for "that" month. Pro-rater so wait until after you have fulfilled the required deposit amount to have the fee waved

  • +1

According to ANZ on facebook (I messaged them) this is only avalible for customers in NSW/ACT regardless of signing up online.I do agree that the terms do not make that clear.

    • the terms do not make that clear

Not only they don't make it clear but there is NOTHING in them to remotely indicate that cash will only be paid to NSW/ACT residents. The only thing it says is that residents of other states need to apply online.

I applied online (I'm in QLD) and received an email from ANZ a day later clearly saying that I am eligible for the promotion.

If I have any issues getting my money with them, ANZ will face the wrath of the Spending Hacker and I assure you I am going to win! :)

  • +6

From VIC. The terms say either website OR ACT/NSW branch.

I went to ANZ main website directly and saw it. Therefore, if I register they are obligated to provide $100. Prepared to fight for my $100!

  • Can anyone by any means able to see the link in SA?
    Tried incognito, mobile nothing works

    • +1

Try using personal hotspot from an iPhone, I saw the link fine that way.

      • Thanks! That worked!!

  • we don't need to register our details on any other form right? (like the ING one)

  • Thanks OP. Took about two minutes seeing I am already with ANZ.

  • Still waiting for my HSBC $50 bonus to come.
    This is an amazing deal!
Not sure why anyone would want to use ANZ over the clear benefits ING offers though.

    • Not sure why anyone would want to use ANZ over the clear benefits ING offers though

      Agree 100%!

      1. Open account
      2. Meet eligibility criteria
      3. Profit $100
      4. Close account

I do quite like the idea of taking $100 from ANZ.
I closed my last account with them in 1999 over silly fees.

  • -4

Like all these things you will need to read the terms and conditions carefully and make sure you are doing it for the right reasons. There may be no value in you doing this if you are already earning more than this with your existing bank. The bank has obviously considered the investment wirth the excersize.
Always follow up the bank simply wont just hand it over.
Make sure it is in your best interest to do so.
    Read the T&C's Carefully first

Q: What interest rate would you need from your existing bank to earn $100 from a $2000 deposit over one week?
      A: 500% per annum.

Obviously this deal is humongous value.

  • No mention of any such promotion on the ANZ.com or ANZ.com.au websites that I can see.

    • Which state are you in?

I am in QLD and it shows for me.

  • I can't see the promotion, with wifi or 3g, pc or mobile. VPN different locations don't work too. Very frustrating.

If you can see the promotion, can you please copy the promotional link ADDRESS and paste it for us that can't see it?

I am talking about the address of the link when you put your mouse over the "apply now" button inside the promotion ad, not the address of the page you are seeing the promotion. The address should contain some code to tell ANZ we are coming from the promotion.

You can see the "apply now" button here:
    https://cdn.ozb.me/n/14/155014x.jpg

  • +1

I am in Melbourne. That promo link did not open from my mobile (Telstra). Tried from my work computer and voila i can see the promo…opened account for myself and mum…200 bucks for us.. thanks OP :)

    • Can you please help give us the address link of the promo's "apply now" button? (can copy it by right clicking it)

  • Just opened an account, benefit of being under 18 is that they are not legally allowed to charge me fees, hopefully i still get the $100.

    • Can you please help give us the address link of the promo's "apply now" button? (can copy it by right clicking it)

  • Will the $100 be given to each eligible cust. on the 15th of Oct, or anytime before then?

  • Link doesn't seem to direct to the promotion anymore, l am in Sydney.

    • I'm still seeing it (I'm in VIC) but only on my work computer. When I check it on my iphone or my home computer I get the standard version of the page that doesn't have the offer.

I think they are doing some geoip lookup stuff behind the scenes to try to restrict it to NSW and ACT but they obviously didn't test it properly. Hence some people in other states have been able to access the link and some people like you who are actually in the right states can't see it. Maybe try a different computer/connection?

I opened my account via the link on Friday even though I'm in VIC; received a confirmation email with the terms of the promo in it.

Will report back if the $100 gets paid…

  • Signup was easy.
But I get an email "Promotion ANZ Access Advantage Student application"
It says I have to take ID to any ANZ branch,
and also "Evidence of your student occupation"
But I am not a student and never said I was on the application AFAIK.
There is no mention of Student in the T&C.
I have no idea where the student thing came from.

"as a new ANZ customer, we’ll need to formally identify you before you can make withdrawals or start using ANZ Internet Banking. You can do this at your local ANZ branch. "

Urgh! need to visit a branch.

Why cant these big banks fix their legacy systems and procedures ?

    • +1

Yeah I got that too. ID check took less than 10 mins in branch, but really shouldn't be necessary in 2014. Plenty of other banks manage to do ID checks online…

Why cant these big banks fix their legacy systems…

You want to talk about legacy systems? The lady in the branch who did my ID check was using a desktop running Windows XP…

    • Why cant these big banks fix their legacy systems and procedures ?

Agree 100%. ING Direct and ME bank probably have the most painless account opening procedures.

ANZ and Westpac are also not part of Bank@Post so you can't even go to a post office. Only place to do an ID check is their branches. It sucks but for $100 I'm willing to give them 10 minutes of my time :)

  • My wife and I both applied.

She's not existing ANZ customer and I do have an ANZ credit card.

She received an email titled "Promotion ANZ Access Advantage Sole application" with the terms and conditions in the email.

I received an email titled "ANZ Access Advantage account application" but no mention of the promotion. I don't know whether the promotion was successfully applied to my application.

We used the same promotional link and applied on the same computer (and I applied first).

Did anyone else with an ANZ credit card applied under the offer and received an email with the promotion terms and conditions?

    • Did you enter your CRN when applying?

  • Promotion banner does not show if your browser block trackers (such as with Ghostery plugin). Shows up if it is disabled.

  • Registered online on the 1st August, received a confirmation email but no follow-up from ever since. Appalling service. They deserve to get $100 taken off them.

  • +1

Anyone got the free 100 the second time?

    • money not received yet to know!

  • Does every application require you to go in store to verify ID? Or can you sign up yourself + family members (with permission ofc) online?

    • +1

I had to go into a branch, but when applying the form seemed to indicate that some accounts and ID checks could be approved online.

      • +2

Thanks! Im guessing if youre already an anz customer and have done the ID check already then youre good to go.

        • +1

Sounds logical, I wasn't an ANZ customer at the time. Whether ANZ's systems are logical is another story. :)

The way I submitted my ID checks is another possibility on why I got referred to a branch. When I was applying, I entered my driver's license when prompted after the Australian resident question. When it came to the final ID check it seemed to indicate my drivers license was already recorded, but as soon I entered it again I got referred. Perhaps if I entered my Medicare or passport details I may not have been referred.

          Good luck with your application.

  • Can someone from NSW/ACT post the link from the green Apply Now button? For me its https://applyonline.anz.com/dsr-dep/deposits/apply?apptype=A… (I'm in VIC)

  • I'm in sunshine state. What I see doesn't say anything about NSW or ACT: http://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/83594/24519/anz.png

  • So I have just opened the new account, deposited $2000 for Aug in order to waive the $5 account keeping fee and get the $100 offer.
Question is do I have to deposit $2000 in Sept and another $2000 in Oct before I can close the account (15 Oct)? otherwise I'd be charged $5 per month?

      • +1

But not to get the $100… only need to do $2000 once!

  • Can you outline the step of online account opening?

    • Follow the link https://applyonline.anz.com/dsr-dep/deposits/apply?apptype=A…
      (sourcecode_1=QYP)
    • Filled in information (Title/Names, DOB, Address, Phone, Verbal password, US status, email)
Hang on to your verbal password and reference number at the end.

    • You will instantly receive an email titled "ANZ Access Advantage application - Next steps"

We are pleased to advise that your application is being processed. Provided that all details on your
application form have been completed correctly and you satisfy the eligibility criteria
for the account, your new account should be opened within one business day.

    Your reference number is: ……………..
ANZ will state the above reference number in all emails regarding your application.

We will email you once the processing of your application is complete to advise of
any further steps you may need to take to start using your account.

When do I see promotion confirmation? Where can I verify my ID? Anyone who get it done, please help.

    • +1

I applied on 15/8 (Fri.) morning and received the email titled "ANZ Access Advantage application - Next steps"

6 hours later I received an email titled "Promotion ANZ Access Advantage Sole application xxx" with the terms and conditions. I don't need to verify my ID, most probably because I have the ANZ credit card and have an online account with them.

    • This online application did not work. They emailed me to call a number. I didn't bother to call back but I went to a branch to start a new application instead.

  • I open an account but name called "Access Cheque Account" anyone know why?

    • My account has the same name and I was also unsure why. It could be because I opted not to be given a key card when I was completing the ID checks in the branch. Did you get issued a key card lxr?

    • mine changed to access advantage after i deposited the 2k

      • Mine didn't. Deposited (then withdrew) the 2K 11 days ago and no change.

        • +1

oooo must be the card then ?? i got a card issued & pin

          im in QLD

        • so as you, I deposited more then 2k and account name still in "Access Cheque Account"
          no changes

already got debit card and used for shopping last week

    • +2

Just back from ANZ, staff told me "Access Cheque Account" is same as "Everyday bank accounts"
      Just they use different names.

and anyone got $100 cash back?

      • +2

not yet. but checking daily :P

        • +1

no money here either.. i signed up day one :) before i even posted this deal

    • I know - because you did not order a card.

  • There seems to be heavy emphasis on 30 September 2014 and payment by 15 October 2014. As the $100 has not yet been paid, then I am guessing that we will get our $100 between 30 September 2014 & 15 October 2014. Fingers crossed.

    • Yup, agree - I think they will pay it as LATE as possible as they'll have foreseen folks signing up just for the $100 and won't want to make it any easier than they need to.

  • Anyone opened an account at a branch?

    1. The staff just explained to me verbally that the 2K has to be done for three months (Aug, Sep and Oct).

    2. The brach did not ask for email address but when I logged on to the internet banking I signed up for online statement and put my email in. There is no email about promotion at all. I wonder if this is alright? Does anyone get a promotion email when you open account at a branch?

    • Could it be any more clearer? Those branch staff obviously don't know what they are talking about.

To get $100, open an ANZ Access Advantage account by 31 August 2014 and then deposit $2,000 and log on to ANZ goMoney™ or ANZ Internet Banking by 30 September 2014. Offer available to new ANZ everyday bank account customers who have not previously received $100 from ANZ.

If there was a requirement to deposit $2k in August why would the promotion still be active until end of August.

      • 2K requirement is for the fee too.

I told her about my intention to get $100. I think she worked it out the best way for me. I did not take the debit card and she did not asked for unnecessary information.

My concern is that I've got no evidence/pamplet to hold on to in case $100 does not come and I need to go to FOS.

  • I've already openened up this account and deposited $2000 before 31 August. If I take the $2000 out now will I still get the $100?

  • Its been a while and i haven't got my $100.. anyone here get it yet?

  • +1

Still waiting for the $100 on the 2 accounts my wife and I opened, assume same with all others.

  • I just got my $100 today in the Access Cheque Account.

Time to take the money out of the online saver which only earns 3.8%.

  • Got mine after depositing 2g this morning.

  • Got mine too.

    Happy

  • Got mine too, Happy days.

  • How do we close ANZ account from overseas?
Call to a reverse charge number?

  • +1

sweetness, my free money just went in

  • +1

    Got my $100 in SA

  • Feeling guilty to close the account immediately after taking out the $100.

    • +3

I will take your guilt away. You can send the $100 to me.

No need to thank me now.

  • +1

Received a txt from ANZ just then. "$100 has been credited to your new ANZ everyday account as part of the offer you qualified for"

  • +3

I just got paid my $100. I am in QLD.

Closing account tomorrow as soon as my transfer out (to ING Direct) clears.

It has been a pleasure taking your money ANZ. Please come again :)

  • Got mine as well. Will close the account at the end of the month. Already deposited 2k for the month.

    • +1

Ch-ching! and account closed. Thanks ANZ. I got back some of the fees you were charging me for monthly account keeping!

  • +3

Yay! Got my 100 today. Just gone back and realized in the last year or so I had $100 signup bonuses from ING, 100 from ANZ, 100 from CBA, 100 from MeBank, 50 from Suncorp and a 50 gift card from HSBC. LOL.

  • +1

I joined for the $100 but have found their App extremely good, however it would be no fun to switch all of my established banking! Is anyone now considering staying with ANZ?

    • +4

Nah ANZ charges monthly fees if you don't deposit 2000 a month. That alone rules it out as a matter of principle.
