  • Good luck if you can still get 'em. Tuggeranong (ACT) were cleaned out on Friday arvo.

    • for that reasons its good to order online with supercheap when they have sales for a pickup in store

if you want bulk order you know they wont have in store more than a couple of bottles

after a day or 2 they will email you and offer pickup another store or delivery to your door

oh yes please send it to my house :D

from my last couple of orders they have sent from a sydney store rather than a central warehouse

      • It's actually quite random…so far I've worked out it will be from a store with the closest or correct quantity required regardless where it's in Australia. I've once ordered 8x 1L Mobil 1's, shipped from Queensland to Sydney as most of the Sydney stores have only half of that quantity.

Then again this post is re Repco not Supercheap…

        • If you have, or know someone with a Costco membership, you can buy Mobil 1 5W30 6x1L bottles for $60.00. Not bad buying.

edit: 6x1qt bottles. Not quite 1L hehe, but close enough.

        • @doze:

I've always wondered why the 5W30 is so much more than the 5W40? I use the 5W-40 myself I reckon 5W-30 is too thin in warmer weather, better for fuel economy though.

        • @hoxygt:

Not sure why, but it's probably the Australia tax. As for viscosity, they specify 0W20 for a lot of modern vehicles in the US, because of their tough emissions laws.

I'm not sure on the effect using a 0W20 would have on engine longevity, but I'm guessing they sacrifice longevity for lower emissions.

        • @doze:

Yeah I guess so, 20 is very thin in an Australian context!

The kind of viscocity chart I've always referred too - http://www.carbibles.com/images/saerates.jpg

    • Yeah my closest had a shelf full. If your keen just ask them to order them in - they have to honour the price or you could claim bait advertising (http://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/misleading-claims-advertisi…)

  • All the shell oils have some of the worst sales figures, but are one of the best blends out there.

They're a full detergent oil, great to run for a few months after buying a new used car. Expect it to come out BLAAAAACK; it means its doing its job!

  • Unfortunately still not 504/507 grade otherwise would have picked up a few

    • Without bothering to research, thats a Low SAPS oil right? for TDI's that run a DPF?

    • -2

Don't worry, the DSG will blow up many times before your your DPF fails.

  • I'm pretty sure if you're an NRMA Roadside Member you also get 10% off :)

    • +1

I showed my RAC card today and didn't get further discount. Perhaps others might have more luck.

      • +1

no further discount for sale items.

  • Recall that the Helix Ultra went down to $27.99 a few months ago… still a good deal though… +'ed.

  • Thx picked up one from REPCO PORT ADELAIDE. They still have few on the shelf.
