  • Cheap - 800ma is only good for smaller devices, device will say on label what it wants.

  • I've been wanting to get one of these for my portable Philips DVD Player. The label says 9v 1A input, so will this work considering its only 800 ma? Probably not right?

    • This is the one DSE @ Rhodes recommended to me last week. They tested it with the Philips splash proof portable dvd player in the store and it worked but for $30 I thought I'd check ebay first (I only paid $90 for the DVD Player).

I bought 2 for $6.42, paired it with a Chromecast and used today's $10 off code for orders over $50.

      • Thanks. Does your Philips splash proof portable Dvd player also require 9v 1A input? Worst case scenario device shuts down malfunctions without damage since there is only 800ma available?

  • +1

    They also have a 12V 1.5amp version for $8.07

    • But I can't give 12V to a device requiring only 9V? That'll damage the device isnt it?

      • Correct - you'd have to look for another adaptor unfortunately

      • You cannot give higher voltage, but can give higher amperage.

    • Nice! I'm always short of a 12v adapter for my external hard drives..

      • They are around 1.5A so the one above might be good.

Looks like a whole bunch of AC Adapters of varying outputs are around that price.

    • Awesome, found a few that I needed to convert from US to Aus plugs, thanks!
