Not quite the same deal, this has Windows RT. Some may consider it inferior when it comes to apps.

    Operating System: Windows RT

and just like that this is no longer a bargain.

    running windows on a Tegra 3…oh gawd…

unless theres a way to dual boot android this is on the fence of a deal

  • Got excited at the 2gb ram but…..

Stay away from Windows RT if you know what's good for you.

TF600T-1B063R VIVO Tablet. Sure is a catchy name.

i just want to throw it out here

tegra 3 is the slowest quad core and is slower than some dual core A9 cpu, even A7 quads will beat Tegra3

    • +1

It was one of the first Quad cores. My Asus Nexus 7, HTC One X and Acer A510 all run apps fine, however, I'm not quite sure how it handles Windows RT.

  • Not so bad - so long as you are very happy with the apps it comes with.

    RT?? what a fail o/s

    • +1

Sick of this RT bashing. If you can't find the thing at a cheaper price then no real point. It's not meant to be a high end device, but for $179 where else can you get decent batt life, Office, and a keyboard?

  • +5

problem is RT god forbid this **** it isnt windows it cant run your desktop software or any pc games and its own sh*** ecosystem shouldve left to die alone

worst of all MS locked down all windows tablet with UEFI bs so you cant dual boot for squat, you are forced to drink through its straw

was about to buy until I saw it was RT. (and RT tablets are locked to RT)
You'll need that extra RAM! This is not an upgrade on the TF300T as the post claims.

@Balls: isn't it just RT tablets that are locked? not windows-8 ones AFAIK.

The 3g version with the Keyboard for $219 delivered seems like a great little deal even with RT. Don't recall even seeing many 3g android tablets at that price

Don't be fooled by the sophisicated exterior of the ASUS VIVO

    um ok

I got 3G one last week. Very impressed, great condition for refurbished. Full version of MS Office plus 3G plus keyboard dock with extra battery make this an excellent option for people wanting to access documents on the move. Don't see much out there at this price point.

Only neg is tablet won't wake up from sleep once you upgrade windows. Workaround available on net though.

A word of warning from a previous owner of this tablet - do not buy one.

There is an issue caused by what I believe is a firmware update which basically breaks it (and from what I can tell can't be reversed). The touch screen registers phantom touches and renders the tablet unusable. I'm not sure if they've managed to rectify this issue or not but I certainly would advise against buying one even at this price.

Myself and a work colleague were early adopters and both bought these tablets and had the exact same issue. We both had them repaired under warranty twice but the same issue was there. Luckily we bought extended warranties and were able to have the price of the tablet refunded. These refurbished tablets are probably all the ones returned under warranty.

It is a shame as Asus products are generally excellent quality.

Feel free to correct me if the problem has now been fixed.

  • Well i just bought the 3g version. The free delivery seems to have dissapeared and is now 40% off which puts it at $211 delivered.

RT or not, but a 3g tablet, with dock and keyboard, with a a 14+ hour battery life, office, full usb output and mini hdmi output for that price I think is an absolute steal.

Doing some research it would appear the "phantom touch" issue that seems to have plagued this model is fixable by Asus, where they request problem models to be sent back. So one would hope that this will have been resolved with these reconditioned items

  • had my 3G version delivered yesterday seemed good for about 5 mins til we realized the screen rotation had issues
sometime i will rotate other times get stuck in one position now its stuck upside down which would be OK if the keyboard wasn't attached has anyone had issues with this?

have put in a RMA request but thinking of getting another one as its only for the wife to browse the net pretty much.
