Can't believe I got these for 50% off from Harvey Norman in Bundall, they have limited stock. They retail for $1400 but they're going for just $699 atm or $750 with 5yrs warranty.

Had set it up in my theatre room and the sound is incredible. They sound just as good as my other speakers which I paid $2,500 for… except with better bass.

    "the best-sounding 5.1 speaker system we’ve heard under $600"
does this mean they suppose to sell under US$600? Amazon.com selling at $549.95 & FREE Shipping within US. http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SP-PK52FS-Theater-Speaker-Pack…
    Price for 5.1 AUD 615.63 + Shipping & handling: AUD 450.81 = Total before tax: AUD 1,066.44
There're plenty complain about Australian pricing originated from Pioneer.com.au http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2070269 what a rip off here!
So, looks like you've a "true bargain down under" :-)

Well now it is sold at the real price it should have been.

Looks like another case of the Australia tax. Pioneers sites showing $549 for the set. Not to say you did or didn't get a good price, but it does show what sort of markup we are being hit with.

  • Been searching for these today too. Weird.

  • I've been trying to find these for a while too, doubt i'll find a store in VIC with stock selling at this price though. Time to start calling HN's tomorrow!

  • Its not on the hn website, does this mean they don't stock it?

  • The store @ Bundall had 10 in stock.

  • Interestingly, most of these products are available seperately on the pioneer AUS website, Floorstanding speaker $225, Centre speaker, $200 but not the subwoofer or bookshelf…

    • Yeah much better value in getting the package though.

  • anyone managed to confirm if this is available in vic?

  • I had one on hold at Springvale. I travelled an hour to pick it up, only to find out someone else had purchased it. I'd be annoyed if I didn't manage to walk away with a MUCH better system for the same price. I guess I should say thanks instead!

    • Which system did you end up collecting?

It's not on the Harvey Norman website, but I managed to pick up the Pure Acoustics Supernova 8 Home Theatre System for $699. Sticker price was $1699 (although I did find it online for $900-$1000).

        Pure Acoustics Link Below:

I also managed to score a Denon AVR-X2000 Amp for $399. Sticker price was $696 and I couldn't find it cheaper than that anywhere.

It took a fair amount of negotiating between two different stores and a ton of on the spot research (you've gotta love sites like ShopBot and Staticice!) but I'm pretty happy with the end result.

        • Thanks alot naythd for the info…
Cheapest I could find online was $799, so great deal negotiated…

Glad it worked out for you after the disappointment of being gazzumped

        • You're welcome. I'd be happy to post a receipt if anyone is interested.

        • @naythd:
          Yes please!

        • @Fry:

Hmm, I'm quite new to OzBargain (and it looks like you are too), and I'm not sure what the best way to upload the receipt is.

        • @naythd:
Just an imgur link would do it…

        • Scan it. Upload to imgur.com or tinypic.com and then add the link found on the right of the page once uploaded here.

Nice deal if it includes the receiver. I dont think the Pioneer one does have a receiver.

  • Anyone know where to get good prices on individual speakers?
