Belkin Ultra Thin 1.8m HDMI Cable $6.95 COTD

40
CSHIP4FREE

Seems to be a good deal for an "ultra thin" HDMI.

In fact, first time I heard of the term ultra thin for HDMI (not for condom) lol.

Not sure about performance though, funny thing the picture shows Belkin but the description can't bother to mention the name…

Typical COTD but worth the punt I guess, if the HDMI deal a couple of days ago by Tikbro is anything to go by.

Cheers

  • Not sure if a thin cable warrants a price increase over the standard cable. When would HDMI cable width be an issue?

Are you kidding me? Thinness is a huge asset. Think about all the tight places the head of this cable won't fit through but the cable itself could.

  • These look similar to the Apple cables which sell for $20 so could be nice as a thin portable.

While I've not bought this brand before, I have had two HDMI cables fail out of the eight cables I have bought, and both of them were unusually thin compared to my other HDMI cables - about 4mm to 5mm outside diameter.

When I had double-checked that I couldn't get them to work anymore, I cut them open, and found that all of the wires were really thin solid-core wires. Little wonder that they had failed, solid-core wires shouldn't be used anywhere that they will be flexed more than a few times, because they break easily.

  • If you want real performance you need some thick Monster cables. :p

Shouldn't only thick monsters should buy thick monster cables?

too many COTD free postage deals, I've seen atleast 5 now.

these HDMI cables aren't even cheap.
