The price for this was $79USD in Walmart a year ago. But $99 for a tablet with dual core today is not a bargain.

You can get a quad core local stocks for $92 delivered.

      They got Walmart in Australia?

      • -3

        They sure do:

Honolulu, Mililani, Pearl City & Waipahu

        All stores full of Australians.

        They got Wamart in Australia?

Not yet, but I remember reading about plans to that effect a couple of years ago.

BigW has always had keen 'associations' of one type or another with Walmart, and Roger Corbett (Woolies CEO going back a few years) was even appointed some time ago as a director on Walmart's board.

Walmart actually opening here might never happen, but for the board as a whole, the success of Costco must make the expansion seriously tempting…

        • "…..and Roger Corbett (Woolies CEO going back a few years) was even appointed some time ago as a director on Walmart's board."

Then that will be the end of the cheap fuel prices in the US once the supermarket/department store cartels take over like they did here.

          @jdr:
I don't know about that, but I do know that U.S. 'gas' prices will always be cheaper than here, regardless.

  • The Oz CUBE looks like a better deal.

The price it was in Walmart is irrelevant, firstly everyone knows that the US is cheaper then aus & secondly,we can't buy from Walmart.
I do agree that the specs aren't great, but some people prefer to buy a brand they have heard of such as Hisense rather then something called an Oz-Cube.

It's actually "Cube U25GT" and not Oz-cube, the Oz stands for Australian stock. For $99 it's a bit too much, because Fasttech sells it for $60

I wouldn't recommend any tablet with less than 1GB of RAM though.

      • Interesting site Fastech… tks.
This looks like a good deal for a 9" quad core 2gb/16gb 5&2mp camera & 5200mah battery tablet..$171us inc delivery.

As an alternative, Aldi will be selling a 9" 3G dual core phone from the 20th August for $149. Similar specs overall except bigger screen + battery and 3G.

    • It doesn't mention a mic, only says "Speaker and G-Sensor" which would determine that it may not have a dialer app and won't make calls.

      • I would expect it has a microphone at least for video recording. I do not, however, expect it to make phone calls.

  • Take the plunge if you want but its a 2014 update to this one http://www.cnet.com/products/hisense-sero-7/, likely to not be great, but now reviews anywhere so take the risk

I bought one of the Asus MemoPad HD7s when they were at $99.
I wish I had bought four of them. The one I bought was for my son - my daughter snagged it and hasn't given it up yet. My other daughter wants one now and so does my wife! And the son I bought it for still doesn't have one.
Its a really good little unit.
