FREE: Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare (72 Gaming Hours) & Kingdoms of Amalur (48 Gaming Hours) @ Origin

700

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare has just been added to EA's 'Game Time' promotion on Origin, offering 72 hours of playing time free.

Once you've redeemed the 'Game Time' offer, you're free to start the time whenever you choose. This can even be after the promotion ends. Clearly it makes good sense to start playing when you've got the opportunity to play for a good portion of that time.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is also part of the promotion, with 48 hours of 'Game Time'.

Download now, play later. Clock starts only when you start playing!

Enjoy.

  • Free is good.. but i dont have any free time over the next 72 to 48 hours! It should be free for at least a few weeks

Hi ghost. Good thing is you can redeem the offer now, and play later. Clock starts when you start playing :)

      • good info! :) thanks

Don't have free time to redeem a game onto Origin to play later?. Yet you seem to have time to post a comment.

lol.. I'm at work.. can post a comment on a text based website.. cant really play games!

  • Yeah don't think I can commit 72 hours now. Maybe I will keep it for now and start the game after I retired. Hehe.

  • Maybe you get bored after playing 2 hours

  • PvZ is on PC already? Damn.

Plants vs Zombies has been on PC since the year 2009. The PC & Mac versions was the very first versions made long before the console versions came out.

      • I think this is garden warfare the fps

      • Wrong PvZ. This freebie is Garden Warfare, 3rd person shooter, not the top down tower defense.

        • It's still an amazing game if anyone hasnt played it.

Played it more than titanfall (way more).

  • Smart move with Kingdoms of Amalur. 48 hours for a game that takes twice that to finish.

Only 30 hours for the main story apparently.

So if we cut back on non-essential time consuming activities like sleep we could finish it :)

I was under the impression it was in game time, not just when you start the game. I guess the latter makes more sense for them though.

        • @leonheart1:

Your Origin Game Time clock begins when you first launch the game after it’s been fully downloaded and installed. Once started, the clock will continue to run whether you’re in the game or taking a break.

          source.

It's a pretty stupid system and a misleading title by Origin. It's not game time, not even run time. It's simply x hours after you launch the game for the first time. It means that for a 48hour gametime:
48hours - 16hours sleep - meals - real world obligations (freinds, job, family etc) = diddly squat

        • @CyberGenesys:

Agreed. Still, it's better than steam's free weekends in that regard although it's less frequent.

  • Do you have to have an account with Origin or something to get this deal?

    • +4

Yes you do need an Origin account otherwise it wouldn't say Origin in the title.

  • Xbox one version is on special for 34 on JB, easily worth it for a game thats got a ton of free dlc.

    stupid

  • Quality game but I still would not install Origin on my mac. Buy the games on console, garden warfare has a thriving 360 community and its regularly on special for about $25.

  • fun game. got the 360 version on the release date.
spent lots of time on it. rank 201 now.:)

IMPORTANT: Plants Vs Zombies REQUIRES 64-bit version of Windows.

  • Thanks for the heads up, I was thinking of getting this. After playing the trial I know it is not for me, cheers for saving me some cash.

  • Always wanted to try, thanks!!

use HOLA and buy from the Mexican EA site - will cost you $18.99 USD for normal and $21.99 USD for deluxe copy

Shocking "deal", You can get trials for most games i dont see why this is so special. You just post the sub-par deals so you can get votes

  • Can anyone confirm, does this mean if I get 72 hours of game time? Or 72 hours from when I first activate it?

Because if its 72 game hours that's pretty good. 3 hours a day = 24 days of trialing!

    otherwise it's stupid.

        That is very lame.

        • It is what it is. That amount of time on a per-play basis instead of a constant countdown would be pretty insane. If you got 72 free hours in PvZ, you'd probably never even get through it all. I think it's reasonable; it's ample time to trial it for one weekend… they aren't a charity, after all.

        • @ProspectiveDarkness:

It's just because it's an online multiplayer game, most of my fun would be from playing with friends.

It would be hard to convince friends to activate and play within the same 3 day period as me. They might be busy.

        • @musicinbed69:
well it's meant to be a teaser. So you play it and find it's fun and convince your friends to buy it so you can have fun together. As prospective said, they aren't a charity. It's meant to entice you to buy the game. Now that my kids have played it I'm being pestered to buy it :D. Happy to though cos it's pretty fun for a kids game. not as good as counterstrike but good nevertheless.

isn't titanfall like a 50Giggish size. That would take a serious chunk out of my quota for a 3 day trial.
