    Guys, not to start a fight here or anything, but are Bose actually that good for the price? Or are they overhyped like beats?

    I have an audio technical m50s, just wondering how these compare since they're in a similar price bracket

      sound is subjective.. go and let your ears decide.

      i have had the m50s and they are pretty much perfect for me.. but very neutral.

      bose generally sound more lively.

      $100 for headphones to me isn't a great deal of money to part with. Yes they are hyped but they sound good.

      As with anything audio, every opinion is subjective.

      The general consensus around various hifi forums is that Bose is massively overpriced for what they actually offer. The super high end stuff ($1000+) is apparently decent, but everything else you can find very similar alternative for a fraction of the cost.

      Your M50s won't be any better or worse than the Myer offers now.

      I got a a pair of MIE2i just now. I have listened to them extensively, but did not own them up to this point. For 160-180$ I would say they are not worth it. My Shure 215s are way better, as are my Puritys. But for $84.50 they are totally worth it in my (very subjective) opinion. It is a nice step-up from the bundled buds of a phone or an MP3 player and at that price they can be your daily drivers.
      The MIE2i are VERY comfortable but they are not very noise isolating. So in the train for example, background noise can potentially be an issue.

      Sound is really great; however, cords are not great at all. If they were wide & flat (like Bead's - like fettuccini :-P ) would be much better.
      I've never had m50s - will be my next one!

    Pretty tempted by the Sie2i to use when cycling. I find the normal in-ear buds really uncomfortable, and too noise isolating for riding, but think these might be better.

    anyone care to comment on how comfortable these are??

    also whether they would block out wind noise well?

      These are the most comfortable in-ear buds I've owned. They feel very secure and completely seal in your ear. I think they would block out wind well.

      I found that anything with 3 buttons don't work for Android unless they specifically state so. The middle button works when you want to pick up calls or skip tracks, but you can't use the volume buttons

        Yeah they can say what they like, but they also have to contend with Australian Consumer Law.

        I would have thought that if you buy, they take your money, then they don't have stock = money refunded. You shouldn't have to accept store credit. It's not as though you changed your mind.

    When you audition these cans, plug your own media player if you can. The display units have "simulated" sound samples. This was verified by a Bose salesman in Myer Melb CBD. This holds true for the speakers as well, they sound so good when you try them but it would dull down when you use the "flat" sound of your media.
