    Once again, do keep in mind it's a 280. Not a 280X.

    • Certainly a step down from the 280x but for price to performance can't really beat this deal!

      • is the "x" worth the price difference its like $100?

        • No, but the 280 is sold out now

  • Very good price for a 280.

The 280X is better though. This is only the 280

I opened amar's links posted above and noticed a big difference in performance. Doesn't hurt anymore lol

How can 21 people plus this when it is only useful to at most 12 people.

    • +14

There are those who wouldn't need one but would agree it is a good price.

    • +6

      Because it's a good deal?

  • I up voted for the price, but didn't buy one as it's no use to me.

    Sold Out.

BTW unless you added the coupon code "AMDGOLDNSF" to your order, you won't be getting the 3 free games.

Unfortunately, by the time Mwave answered my question about that, they had sold out.

    Anything at all?

  • Would this go alright in a C2D with 2Gb RAM setup which has decent power supply?

    • No

    • +1

CPU and small RAM would probably hold it back. What is your current gfx configuration?

      • 8800gtx.

        • +2

Depends on the C2D imo. I think an E8XXX cpu would do fine, especially if it's overclocked.

But judging from your amount of ram (which most likely won't be enough for modern games) you probably have an E6XXX or lower. So probably not the best idea as the bottleneck would be the cpu and ram, your current card is just about right for that setup.

I'd be looking at getting a new system if money allows. I went from an overclocked E4300 to an i7 and it made a HUGE difference. of course you don't have to go that high. The cheapest i5 would do well for an upgrade.

I've added a 280x to a Core2Duo setup before (E74xx from memory) and it was a massive performance increase on the previous configuration. However the CPU would be bottlenecking the graphics card for sure. 2GB DDR2 RAM would be the biggest problem.
