Quite a good price for a pair of QC15 noise cancelling headphones, including 1 year warranty.

  • Does this pair ever come down in price ? Seems to be always around the $300 range.

    • Anything near $300 is good for these. Full price is about $399, which is what they sell them for most of the time.

  • Careful about that warranty. It maybe Australian but it's not official. Lots of horrible experiences on that, including mine.

    Best ANC headphones around. I travel a lot and have tried them all.
    Generally I don't like BOSE gear, but I have to admit they do ANC well.

      I prefer the Audio Technica ANC, both are good but the AT's are just a bit better and $100 cheaper, but these are more comfortable.

      • i tried both but i feel the bose does a better job with the ANC, but the AT is a lot cheaper, is not so bad if you get in the low $300 though.

      • I liked the sound of the AT's, but found the NC not as good as the Bose. As NC is the main priority when travelling, I kept the Bose.

        I have better sounding headphones for the times I want to enjoy SQ.

    • I tried a lot of different models and although the ANC was slightly better on the Bose I much preferred the PSB's (do a quick google search and you'll struggle to find a bad review). I found that the PSB's did a better job of cancelling noise normally due to the cushioning but the sound quality for me was a world of difference. Coupled with the fact you can use these turned off, with just the amp or with amp and ANC.

    Reckon Myer or Officeworks would price match this?

    • Good question. If we could get 5% off these than around $300 is an excellent price. I'm heading to the US in a week and was going to buy over there for $270USD. Add 10% with current exchange rate so around $295AUD. If I can get from officeworks for $305 I'll buy before io and get to use them on the plane over.

        Just got them price matched from office works over the phone! 5% off brought it to $303.05. Best thing for me is it is over the $300 tourist refund amount so I will get an additional $33 back in gst in 2 weeks! Pretty happy :D

        • I called Officeworks and they said they don't have it in stock. :(

        • Your local or the direct phone number? My local didn't. There website still has it in stock. I would suggest calling OW direct again.

        • @dwhes: Direct, the 1300OFFICE number.

        • @tomssy: I'd call again and try and get a different person. It says it is in stock on their website with dispatch within 24hrs, push that. Don't mention the price match and just ask of they have them in stock. Then ask to make an order. Then say I want to price match. They might be trying to get out of price matching them. Also try ringing around to any stores within driving distance and see if they have stock. Don't mention the price match.

        • @dwhes: Thanks! I'll try calling local stores.

          I will get an additional $33 back in gst in 2 weeks!

          Great buying…. But your refund will only be $27.55. {303.05*(1/11)}

        • @ash2000: haha true. Cheers. Still happy!

          @dwhes:

          You'll be even happier when you're on your long haul flight not having to put up with the engine noise!

          The qc15's are the best travel 'accessory' I've ever purchased for making economy more tollorable.

    DWI and eGlobal are the same company. on that note be warned these will be grey imports. no locally supported warranty and with the amount of counterfeit Bose QC15's I would be careful. currently in the market for a pair myself. Hit up Video pro they are around $350 and full Australian warranty.

      Price match from OW for $303.05, Aus stock/warranty and great price!

      • which OW was it??

        • +1

          Over the phone direct with free collection at my local OW. 1300 633 423. Or head to your local and see if they have stock, mine didn't.

        • @dwhes: Depends on who you speak to in store. Some managers/tech dept sales will check their blacklists. My local ow knows about dwi with regards to phones. They'll mention different warranty terms.

  • Guys any thoughts on what is an OK pair around the $150 mark? I have two pairs of the BOSE and love them though 2 friends travelling next week probably didn't budget for ~$650 on in headphony goodness. Thanks in advance my tight buddies…

    • Are you looking for active noise cancelling or just standard over ear? For ANC, The Wirecutter recommends the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7B as cheaper alternative to the Bose QC15. Without noise cancelling I came across this red version of the popular Audio-Technica ATH-M50 on Amazon for US$105. Seems pretty cheap and it ships to Australia.

  • I have Bose 25's paid $285in HNL couple yeas ago, wife has these good value for the bread…

  • You WILL need local warranty for these. We have had 2 pairs break before and after the warranty. Still getting the same ones as the missus loves the fit of that model. I have ATs but she can't get comfortable with them.

  • Fantastic headphones +1

    never fully realised the value of noise cancelling until i could listen to music without having to blast the volume out

  • To those who have never worn a pair of noise cancellers….

    These are the best on the market and to explain how good they are on a plane can only truly be expierenced once you try them out for yourself. The best thing is you can still wear them with no noise and use the noise cancellation to fall asleep etc.
