Not as good as the bonus 50000 Qantas points with ANZ but might interest some. Looks like it's only available to those who don't already have Amex. Terms and Conditions says:

Offer only available to new American Express Card Members who apply by 31 October 2014, are approved and spend $300 on their new card in the first 3 months of Card Membership. Card Members who currently hold or who have previously held any other Card product offered by American Express Australia Limited in the preceding 12 month period are ineligible for this offer. Please allow 8 to 10 weeks after the $300 spend benchmark has been met for the 7,500 Bonus Velocity Points to be awarded to the Card Member's Velocity Account.

You get 1 velocity point for every dollar spent on the card and 2 points for every $1 spent on Virgin Australia. Minimum salary is $35000. I'm going to pass on this but just thought it might interest some.

    I received the bonus 50K points for QFF from ANZ.. pretty awesome deal the bank had.

  I guess it's a deal but the bonus points just get extended longer and longer. I got the 15k bonus on the gold amex card last August and it's still going it seems.

  Edit:Min salary for this card is $35000 not $3500

    Thanks. Fixed. Seems the Gold one has an annual fee of $99 for the first year. Guess this ones worth it only because of the $0 fee. Otherwise probably wouldn't be worth it, unless you cancel before year is up.

  So if you already have any amex card issued directly by Amex, this offer is off the table I believe. Most of the Amex sign up bonus points carry that condition.

  I thing the citi bank card platinum or signature card a lot better than this. Whilst u don't get as many points u get the platinum perks of travel insurance and extended warrantee
