    which size ?

    • +2

      175 grams, sounds like normal size to me.

    • Doesn't change the taste of these new doritos. I wouldn't pay 50c for a pack of them anymore.

      • +4

        Wait, what's happened to Dorito's?

    • yeah 175g

  • +9

    Where is the evidence for this? The link on the product above is for the 175gm packet but it still shows the current catalogue price of $1.59. Have you seen the weekend catalogue?

  • +3

    If this is the case I will defently be stocking up on them

  • +19

  • Back in the 90s when the Simpsons was funny

    • you're funny

  • +10

    Cheap as chips!

  • +23

    Is this some sort of a joke?

    Some one post some ridiculous deal with no evidence of it actually happening what so ever and it get 30+ votes?

    Until you can show me that this deal is legit it will be a neg for me.

      • +8

        Mod? Mob, more likely.

      • I think it is a fair warning for OzBargainers to be wary that this is unconfirmed. Until the OP lets us know where he got this information, I will add a warning to the top of this deal.

        • +9

          G'day Neil. First time I've ever seen an unconfirmed deal allowed to be posted on OB.

          Surely the OP needs proof? You may be opening a can of worms here.

        • +7

          OP WILL SURELY DELIVER

        • +1

          @furythree:
          I truly hope he does. But why not provide whatever info he has that it will happen? Why hold back? He'd have 200 votes by now if he did.

        • +7

          @tightarse:

          First time I've ever seen an unconfirmed deal allowed to be posted on OB.

          Nah, it happens all the time… Don't you read my comments?

        • +30

          @jv:
          No we just neg without reading. :p

        • +30

          @jv:

          Don't you read my comments?

          It's near impossible. They normally have that many -ve votes, you can't actually see them against the white background. Scotty needs to fix the text fader :)

        • @tightarse:

          Looking at the OP's previous comments (as a long time member), I suspect that they have some insider knowledge of Woolworths deals.

        • -7

          @neil:
          Ye, I suspected you knew something we didn't. Thanks Neil.

          Looking at the OP's previous comments (as a long time member), I suspect that they have some insider knowledge of Woolworths deals.

          Or it's a very elaborate practical joke, with many years of planning behind it…

        • +2

          @neil:

          Are there any rules on Ozbargain about publicising insider information?

        • @kamoi:

          Nope. Evidence gathered from researching and past experiences leads people to conclusions. Dick Smith had raised its price before offering their previous sale. The OP was making a guess that it would remain the same. Thus the price was more than likely not going to be that price given the weight of the evidence.

        • @pointscrazy:

          I'm not aware of any legal implications of revealing cheap Doritos prices.

        • -2

          @neil:

          I suspect that they have some insider knowledge

          Well, I have some insider knowledge that santa clause and the easter bunny will make a surprise appearance at Ikea on Sunday. Can I post that as an unconfirmed deal :D

        • +5

          @easternculture:

          Are they giving away freebies?

        • +2

          @neil:

          Woolworths will run out of stock in their DC if they had revealed this too early I suspect they will announce it tomorrow.

        • +9

          @neil:

          I'm not aware of any legal implications of revealing cheap Doritos prices.

          It may affect the Doritos share price…

        • +4

          @neil: Well I just did some evidence gathering of my own by researching OP's previous comments/deals.

          How do you get to the conclusion of "insider knowledge of Woolworths deals" from those?

        • +1

          @colaman:

          Yes. My inside man tells me that santa clause will give away a free Ferrari to everyone who recogises him and easter bunny will be giving away gold eggs for whoever spots him in the crowd.

        • @easternculture:

          man, you better tell me which one so I don't miss out

        • @colaman:

          i will when mods approve this to be posted as an unconfirmed deal

        • -1

          @tightarse:

          You may be opening a can of worms here.

          TA has a point. Imagine if he starts posting unconfirmed deals. Ozbargain would melt with quality deals.

          I think OP will deliver (Well Woolworths) they did it last year over the weekend for $1 if I recall.

        • @easternculture: which ikea?

        • +3

          Why can't we upvote mods?

        • +3

          @raven2000: I suppose it's because we would also be able to downvote them, which would undermine their authority, especially if they did something correct but unpopular. Also when their doing mod duties, it's a job so they don't need votes.

        • +7

          @sama:

          We have a moderator post flag which we use sparingly. The reason voting is disabled on mod posts is so people don't negative vote it and it disappears.

          We switch on a similar flag when a rep makes an important/useful comment that should not be buried.

          Moderator comments are also shown in the yellow drop down box (New, Store Rep, Moderators, Negative Voters). It helps you to quickly figure out issues in the deal.

          I've unflagged this post as a mod as an example.

        • +2

          @bargainbeast: it also gives competition a heads up . I imagine WW will be very upset about this leak.

          IMHO Neil is being wise in allowing this deal to go ahead on the basis that (a) the poster has credibility and (b) it benefits the community.

          Rules have a place, but knowing WHEN to break them is just as important.

        • +2

          @DeWalt:

          (a) the poster has credibility

          I dont think the poster have much credibility if at all.

          2 deals post and a couple of comments about woolworth deals is hardly enough evidence as solid credibility.

          (b) it benefits the community.

          It won't benifit anyone if it is a hoax.

          At best they are giving this deals the benefit of the doubt but i am sure as soon as it been confirm to be invalid, they will remove it or just leave it and mark all the neg vote as resolve if it is legit.

        • +1

          @chill:
          You have me in stitches chill. Still waiting patiently for your first quality deal…

        • @DeWalt:

          Yes very much so, anyway now the cat is out of the bag enjoy the Doritos this week. $1 is true.

        • oops…testing -ve vote

        • @neil: neil, can mods see who makes neg votes on comments? Like who neg voted your comment? lol or is that completely anonymous to you and Scotty too?

        • +2

          @waterlogged turnip: they can definitely see, I got asked by an old mod why I downvoted him a while back

        • +3

          Yes, we can see all comment votes. Comment votes used to be visible to everyone but they caused way too many fights in the past. Personally, I don't mind negative votes and negative comments. Listening and responding to negative comments is the only way to improve the community/yourself. A hint we often drop to reps posting on here to deaf ears.

        • @neil:
          Imagine if jv was a mod.

          hey champ, what is so lacking in your own personal life that you have to continually pull out this thinly veiled insult every chance you get? you constantly try and wave your epeen around like it somehow makes you a better person?

          maybe if you work out what is troubling you in your own personal life you will be able to move on from personally attacking anyone that even slightly disagrees with you

    • +1

      You're a brave brave man/woman

      • Maybe just stupid haha

        • +4

          Or just a rational ozbargain member.

    • +1

      Could be considered unfair use of a neg, but I certainly agree that the OP needs to show some evidence of a bargain!

      • +5

        Could be considered unfair use of a neg,

        Why? Where is the evidence that this is a bargain?

        • +1

          Perhaps he's referring to the fact that on OzB, any neg, no matter how justified, can get considered unfair use of a neg, and usually is, by a bunch of people.

    • +3

      Agreed. No evidence of bargain. This would be a terrible bargain-posting precedent to allow.

    • Believe in this man :D
