  • is this suitable aswell to put in the car or just to clean the car?
    and maybe bathroom? (wet areas?)

It's the same application as any handheld dry vac stick appliance. I wouldn't use it in wet areas…not designed for that.

Not sure what you mean by "put in the car", but it's great for cleaning the car..well the inside anyway…specially with the extra tool kit by redemption…the flex hose is very helpful (assuming it's in the current accessory redemption offer…)

      • i mean leave it in the car boot all the time. anyway, maybe overkill for car if cannot use for wet areas

        • No, it needs to be plugged into 240v for charging when not in use.

        • just realised that we have the Animal version which has the mini motorised head which is very useful in the car, but the non animal does not seem to have it.

        • You want to buy a $450 vacuum cleaner to keep in your car boot??

I use this all around the house, including the bathroom/laundry/kitchen. I make sure the floor is dry first.
Works a treat and the "MAX" mode is amazing. Battery life hasn't failed me either. On standard mode, I did the entire house and car - no issues.

In the car, you definitely need the flexible hose to get into all the nooks and crannies. The vac is small and light, but it's not viable in the cramped spaces; eg. Driver side footwell.

  • Good price compared to RRP, but not as good as the 40% off sale last month - that was insane.

  • We have a German Shep pup (short hair) but the hair she leaves around within 12 hours of vacuuming is crazy, she's worth it buy I have knee issues so was after something more portable and quick to use, would this be great for dog hair?.. And because of my application I'm wondering if the standard or "animal" version would be best? The name throws me! Anyone able to offer some guidance by any chance? Thanks.

the animal has the motorised mini turbo head; the non-animal does not. So for floors it's no issue as you get the motorised main head on both.

We have three ragdoll cats which leave their fine persian type fur everywhere…it's harder to extract from carpet than dog hair imo and the dyson does it with ease. The great thing is that the turbo brush in the head is so easy to clean compared to other generic turbo heads we've had in the past.

      • Thanks for the reply mate sounds the goods

  • Not necessarily a better deal but something to consider if looking at this.

  • I'm looking at the DC59 Animal. Is this 10% code only for that seller, or for any vacuums?

    • Any.

You're probably better off getting masters to price match with Harvey Norman. They currently have it for $526. So it's $473.40 after price match.

      • I called Masters up a couple of weeks ago, asking if they stock the DC59 Animal. They said they can't see it on the system. I'm pretty sure the guy didn't know what it was though, because I think it's this one: https://www.masters.com.au/product/100931401/dyson-cordless-…
I have seen the DC59 Animal both purple and blue.. though I don't know what the difference is.. :)

Thanks for your help - I think I'll go down this route.

        • Yep that's the one. Just add a few to the cart and go click/collect for your local store to see if they have any in stock.

      • Just did this.

Could get from Amazon for $399 US, plus shipping, but ineligible for the bonus tools by redemption.

        Cheers,

        DH

Oh and price matching at Masters is officially a pain. They insist on checking stock, and only at the closest location of who you want to match. Took 15+ minutes for a 2 min transaction.
