  • wow that's nice price, I'd get it if I didn't already have a mechanical keyboard.

    If you've never had a mechanical keyboard, they are just like the keyboards of yesteryear. At least, the blue switch ones are.

  • Cool beans, just ordered one. I miss my clacky keys, I'm sure my girlfriend doesn't :P

    • Yeah, I'm pretty tempted, great price and warranty. But I think the clackiness would bother me after a while, and the wife even more. I also saw in some Amazon reviews that this is louder than your average Cherry MX Blue board (perhaps lower activation force?)

      I want it now but I think I'll keep waiting for the Tesoro Excalibur to come out and buy an MX brown one.

  • Uses Chinese-made, Cherry MX rip-off switches. I wouldn't bother :P They aren't exactly known for quality…

      True. The real Cherry MX switches are made in Germany.

      Here i am typing away on my Logitech G710+ with Cherry MX brown switches :)

        "Here i am typing away on my Logitech G710+"

        Also not known for reliability. Though I have heard from some that the dying lights were teething issues in early boards.

        • Atleast the MX Brown switch is not clickity loud like the MX Blue switches are. The real MX Blue switch that is.

        • @hollykryten:

          True. I'm still waiting for a brown for a good price.

          Still considering the G710+ but everywhere seems to be out of stock or overpriced.

          Got excited by a 20% off for fathers day email offer from Logitech this morning until I saw they list it at $250 lol

        • @Abaddon:

          No way you'd pay $250 for that. I paid $137.20 for my G710+ keyboard from Harvey Norman on sale a few months ago believe it or not. Lucky me. But still you can still buy the keyboard for around that price as follows:

          Logitech G710+ keyboard going for $142.50 delivered on eBay. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Logitech-G710-Mechanical-Gaming-K…

          Or $149 delivered from Shopping Express. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Logitech-G710-Plus-Mechanical-Gam…

          I know it costs nearly twice as much as this TteSports keyboard is going for but it's a lot better has real Cherry MX switches instead of fakes.

          I've had one for over a year and it's shown no signs of defect. It's a hefty, well-made piece of gear, even by mechanical keyboard standards. The weight of the thing is about as heavy as mechanical keyboards get. The back-lighting is probably one of the keyboard's strongest points imo; at full brightness, if I take the keycaps off, the LEDs actually hurt my eyes.

          My main issue with the G710+ is the ridiculous RRP (~$149). I paid $117 for it and that's about what it's worth. Anymore than that and you could have gone for a Ducky, Leopold or Das instead; all of which are indestructible for all intents and purposes.

        • @Amar89:

          Yes the Logitech G710+ is a heavy enough keyboard. You can generally tell a keyboard has real Cherry MX switches by the weight of the keyboard. If it's a light keyboard it means it doesn't have real Cherry MX switch keys. If it's a heavy keyboard there's a sure chance it's a real MX switch keyboard.

          This simply isn't true. Plenty of Cherry MX keyboards have PCB mounted rather than plate mounted switches and are relatively light as a result. There are also non-Cherry keyboards (buckling spring, ALPS, Topre, even the better made rubber dome boards) that are quite heavy. I'd bet that the keyboard in the OP has plate mounted switches and weighs just as much as an equivalent Cherry board.

          You can tell what the switches are by pulling off a keycap… and looking at the switch.

          @Abaddon:

          Was at my local Dick Smith store this morning and i saw that they have the Logitech G710+ mech keyboard for $139.99 on their Logitech gear 30% off sale. The 30% off Logitech sale is nation wide. Far cry from the $250 which you said Logitech themselves want. So you see you can buy that keyboard at a reasonably acceptable price.

        • @hollykryten:
          Nice, would you happen to know how long that Logitech sale is on for? Will have to go in store as it's $196 on their website.

          Ignore me, I'm being stupid. I read your post as Harvey Norman.

          I stopped looking for it at Dick Smith as it's no longer listed on their website.

          @Abaddon:

          Going by the Dick Smith website until 8th September 2014 on select Logitech gear but the G710+ is one of them just it's not listed on their online web site. It's available in store only. If your local Dick Smith store has it stocked then it's no worries.

          I can confirm the local Dick Smith store here in Rockhampton QLD had a few G710+ keyboards in stock this morning price ticketed at $139.99. As i said check the local store whether they've got it in stock.

        • @hollykryten:

          Bought. Thanks very much.

          Feels pretty awesome. Typing so much quicker, might need to get another one for work :P

          @Abaddon:

          No worries. Enjoy your new Cherry MX Brown mech keyboard. :)

    • Yup but this is slightly cheaper than Cherry MX.

      • Reason for that because it's not a real Cherry MX keyboard.

  • I would wait for some Cherry MX boards to do the rounds… Mwave sends to always have a keyboard in their deals. I love my Gigabyte Aivia Osmium (Cherry Red)…. But am thinking of treating my girlfriend to some mechanical keyboard love….
