Does this go beginner to advanced?

    • Not sure what you mean. Does + and - numbers and fractions. Covers primary school topics well.
This looks like an excellent teaching tool for beginners. I've used dragon box on my kids - and they understood the rules quickly, although neither knew how to do algebraic equations. When I showed them algebra, they said "this is dragon box" - ie. dragon box needed some gel to transition from a clever game to real algebra. This tool fits that bill nicely.
One gripe? Some questions are missing = signs. This is poor form and sets in bad habits. You could tell your kids about this 'feature' of the app as a learning opportunity.

  • Any Calculus Touch?

  • +2

If you are interested in Algebra, you might like to check out the Calculus One course on Coursera.

I've just started taking it and found it is quite good. The instructor is full of enthusiasm and makes the presentations very lively.

    • Thanks netslicer. What age group Is that suggested for? Primary school, high school? Adults?

      • Doesn't say any age group, just "…suitable for someone who has never seen the subject before, or for someone who has seen some calculus but wants to review the concepts and practice applying those concepts to solve problems."

      • Isn't it a bit much for primary school kid to learn about calculus?

  • Any "Nuclear 2.0" touch, yet? If would compare aspects of current ("Nuclear 1.0") reactors (eg, high cost solid fule-rods vs their low (ie, like 0.4%) fuel efficiency… to those of "Nuclear 2.0" (low cost of liquid fuel, especially when it's less scarce Thorium & high fuels utilisation (like 98%), etc.

  • in any case, I like Algebra Touch, eg, as a Reviewing tool, for those who know Algebra already.

  • Not bad, though I wish it hard harder stuff. I remember all of this, it's the rest I forgot.
